Salary Cap Growing (near) Irrelevant

Am I the only fan (not only of the Chiefs but of any NFL team) that is in dismay at how irrelevant the Salary Cap is becoming? The fact that there are many teams with over 30 million in cap room is a sign to me that it has definitely become inflated.

What is the danger? The inflation of the salary cap has undermined the concept of Free Agency to me. I was one of the many Chiefs fans looking forward to this offseason as a possible turning point for the organization in terms of getting much better quickly. Then I sat and grew more and more depressed as teams were able to resign their Free Agents and simultaneously draining the Free Agent pool. Teams are finding more and more ways to make room for players under the cap and maintain their dominant teams. This is not parity.

The NFL needs to look seriously at the idea that the cap is out of control and is becoming meaningless....Just wanted to share this thought and see if you all felt the same...?
