Arrowhead Pride Guys...
Sorry this is a little off the football subject...
Hey, as some of you know I am fairly new to AP. I found it through ProFootballTalk.Com. Now I am addicted. I come here for all Chiefs news...and to actually hear from real KC fans, as I have none in my family or friends.
It seems as if some of you already know each other or have known each other through this site for a while. I would like to get to know you guys better myself.
Please post your first name, where your from, where you live, what you do for a living, your age...etc. I would like to hear from all of you on this...to have some info to go with a name.
My name is Matt. I was born in Paducah, Ky. I now live in Ledbetter, Ky. I am 25yrs old. I work at Coca-Cola Enterprises.I am married and have my first child on the way. I have been a Chiefs fan since about 1993.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I was born in the desert, raised in a lion’s den. My #1 occupation, is stealing women from their men.
Born in Chicago. Live in beautfiul Brookside. Work as a program and proposal manager for a defense contractor. Have been a Chiefs fan since following Marty here from Cleveland in the late 80’s.
Anyone know what the actions button does on the comments? I just clicked it and, ironicly, there was no action.

Are you sure that's all it does?
I clicked on it, my wife showed up, and about 2 minutes later I was nice and relaxed. I keep having to remind her that 2 minutes in Heaven is better than 1 minute in Heaven.

Hola! Me llamo R.J. yo tengo 23 años
I currently reside deep in the heart of CALI! I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was in diapers… People here know me by the quote, “You don’t wake up 1 morning and decide you want to like the Chiefs… You enherit the Chiefs”… And I enherited them from my father (the best thing he ever left me).
I am engaged to be married (August 22), I converted my fiance into a Chiefs fan. She watches all the games with me and she at times gets a little crazier than I do on gameday…. I have a beautiful English bulldog who is ALSO a Chiefs fan with his personalized #99 Chiefs jersey, with his name on the back… “Dexter”.
The End.
Welcome!

Cool
Nice story. I need to get my dogs a personalized Chief jersey. Although your dog would eat mine…I have a chihuahua(?) and a pomeranian…
Oh yeah you do!
Dog jerseys are pretty gnarly… My Dex is pretty chill… He’d eat my couch before he eats your dog. Just don’t touch touch red bandanna that’s tied around his neck… He’ll bite your face off. It’s the funniest thing.
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

LOL
I would love to see a dog bite someones face off….literally. I was working at a grocery store one day and was walking around the side and heard this loud woofing bark and looked across the street to see a big bulldog woofing at me. He was guarding some dudes junkyard….scared the crap out of me. Although I bet those dogs cant run very fast.
Hell no!
My dog wouldnt run if it meant his life… He just chews on stuff, slobers every where, and lays on my couch and watches TV with me… I think he really likes when I play Madden though.
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

Born in small-town Missouri, moved to KC about 6 years ago. I work for the 2nd largest defense contractor in the world training our military to keep us safe at home and abroad. I’ll turn 27 this year.
All I have to say is "Thank you, Clark."
KC MO, that is
I pretty much despise all things Kansas, because apparently, you know, their shit doesn’t stink (although that smell from the Missouri river comes from THEIR side… hmmm)
All I have to say is "Thank you, Clark."
Hey, man,
I can tell you, without a doubt, that Kansas’ shit stinks. Well, at least the cattle’s shit does – I grew up in the general vicinity of at least 4 feedyards.
Of course, that particular stink probably doesn’t make it all the way to the KC area – I’m from Garden City (you know, that part of Kansas that apparently doesn’t even have electricity or running water, if you listen to some eastern Kansans).

I live in Springfield Mo. I work in sales and I have been a fan since about 91. (Ahhh The Montana years.)
91 was a DeBerg year
The only reason I know is cause Tecmo Super Bowl came out in 91 and DeBerg was awesome in that game.
Ohhhh!!
Tecmo is the crap! Me and my brother use to play that game all day. Although he would sack my QB .5 seconds after the snap…lol….remember the goal line tackles when they would catch you in mid air…haha.
De Berg
was a God, saved us from the cancer that was Todd Blackledge, why dear God did we not pick Marino? Well at least 25 other teams blew that one too.

it’s pretty much the sweetest thing ever… except for the fact that Bo Jackson plays for the Raiders, and he’s unstoppable in that game.

Tecmo?
I’ve played computer football games for years, and I’ve never heard of it. Could you give me a little info on it?
Tecmo Bowl
the greatest game ever invented for Nintendo. Only to be replaced as "the greatest game ever " when Super Tecmo Bowl was released.

That explains it...
I unfortunately grew up before the nintendo craze. I grew up playing APBA Football in the 70’s before the computer age. I currently am a big fan of Action PC Football.
Jon, age 33, Chiefs Fan 33years
grew up in Overland Park, went to Chiefs & Royals games since Christ left Chicago. Season tickets @ Kauffman Sec 123, season tickets at Arrowhead Sec 321. Went to college at Rockhurst University, The Best College on Troost baby!!!!!
Recently married, moved to Baton Rouge, La in 2007 to open up my own marketing firm, constantly bash all southerners for being you know, southern.
Remember going to Arrowhead back in the Marv Levy, Frank Ganz, Bill Kinney, Todd Blackledge years. Setting up the grill in the parking lot with my dad, pretty much had the whole place to ourselves, my dad sneaking me a couple sips of beer, some of my favorite memories.
Every year when the Raiders came to town, the stadium would be packed, watched more than a few knife fights in the stands, God bless Raytown and Wyandotte County.

My sad but true story, again
After my scholastic crowning-achievement of being voted "Most Likely to Become a Fugitive", I utilized my "world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education" to its full potential by bouncing around the circuit as a rodeo clown. Ultimately too large to fit hinto the barrel, I suffered a rather serious "workplace-related mishap" (severe blunt-force trauma to the posterior and subdural hematoma…sorry, too much CSI). After recovery, I took a non-accredited correspondence course in "shoe cobbling"; only to discover that everything in our credit-based consumptive economy was now "disposable" (including high-quality men’s & women’s dress shoes).
Ditching my non-refundable cobbler’s tools, I hired-on as a "roadie" for the "Starland Vocal Band". Although counter to my Christian upbringing, I saw no problem in working for a band that glorified intercourse in broad daylight…as long as it didn’t lead to dancing. (Ironic, considering my frame of reference in school was that "teacher/student relations" were "within the norm"). Anyway, I was unaware that the lead singers were in the midst of a very nasty divorce; the result, no doubt, of their daylight shenanigans and doing the devil’s work through "bubble gum pop" bile. However, I digress; the first rule of fight club is never talk about fight club.
Known as "Mr. Burnt Sienna" (because no one wants to be "Mr. Pink"), I was then employed as a "contractor" for a large, family-operated business; the only work available for someone with no appreciable skills and a lot of "anger issues".
After faking my own death, I then managed to get another roadie gig with the band "Paper Lace"; too naive to know that a group can only go so far with a Top Ten pop song about the "Prohibition Era".
I moved to Roswell, New Mexico next, and started a jeep tour of the famous UFO crash site. I often have nightmares that I’m trapped in the gym watching a never-ending "Junior Miss" pageant. I was eventually cleared as a suspect of being the Unabomber. (The federal authorities said that it was impossible for me to have written the "Manifesto" due to my obsessive use of parenthetical asides (like right here) and "quotation marks" (like right "here").) The feds were also quick to point-out that my "lame" non sequiturs would only be clever to someone with "A.D.D. and a significant amount of psychological damage". A note to the home do-it-yourselfers: NEVER buy agricultural-grade ammonium nitrate, PVC pipes and an alarm clock, at the same time with a credit card.
Beginning to think my life was a perpetual Gordon Lightfoot "maritime disaster" song, I pursued an idea I had been thinking about for a few years: starting a new music genre; the fusion of "gangsta rap" and "jug band"…a new kind of music that captures the flavor of a Georgia canoe trip "gone horribly wrong" with the rich, "Afro-centric" culture that our nation so eagerly embraces. Tupac Shakir meets Grandpa Jones. Hee Haw on crack. After leaving a nearby "healthcare facility", I bought a small recording studio in Bolivar, Tennessee and started my own label – Def Bubbaz Records. I also started my own group, "Dem Boyz 2 Phat", where I rap under my street name, "Chunk E. Salsa". (The vernacular becomes more tolerable with Wellbutrin). Some of our more popular songs include, "Mustard Green Blunts"; "Jimmy Smokes Crack (And I Don’t Care)"; "Cold Biscuits Again (I’ll Pop a Cap in You)"; "Ellie Mae B Fine (The New Ballad of Jed Clampett)"; "D.O.A. in Hickree Hilz"; "Homey, Does Yo ‘Pit’ Bite (No Playa No)"; "My Baby’s Momma’s Aunt’s Baby’s Baby (The Martha White Theme)"; "Foggy Mountain Breakin’ & Enterin’"; "There’s a Hole in My Abdomen (Dear Laniqua)"; and, "The Pina Colada Song(Dance Remix)".
Life has certainly come full circle (or as "The No Children Left Behind" would say, 180 degrees). I’ve gone from being the poster boy for "Teenage Wasteland" (or as Elton John so eloquently put it, "a juvenile product of the working class") to morphing, much to my complete and utter dismay, into my father (except for the ability to fix stuff)…one imperceptible increment at a time.
It seems that my "world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education" has reached its logical conclusion: the creation and nurturing of an anger-based gangsta-rapping rodeo clown. No, I didn’t get much out of school; simply because I didn’t put anything into it. If I had it to do all over again, I’d do things much, much different: I would learn just enough so I could solve crimes with math. Nevertheless, always in a state of unrepentant denial, I still fancy myself an irrepressible bohemian; an avant-garde; a misunderstood "enfant terrible"…as opposed to what most insist: "an idiot minus a village". What a long, strange trip it’s been.
So thats how I came up with the name Lanier63. :)
We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

Hello...
…my name is Brent. I’m from Wichita, but now live in Pittsburgh as a student (besides caring for old people, education seems to be the number one industry of the city). I got hooked with Albert Lewis and Kevin Ross during our “Lost in Space” era and have been a fan ever since. Only been to 3 Chiefs games in my life, since I have only recently been able to generate the income to go. Saw the playoff loss in Indianapolis (1 in the year of our Herm), and the Titans and Dolphins losses the last two seasons. I hope to be at a game that they win sometime before 2015.

All I want for my B-Day is.......
A very busy night signing all the Fa’s that we have all been mentioning, lets spend as much of our millions as we can!
My name is Mike
I am 44 years old.
I was born in Virginia Beach, VA, but My Mom was from here. She may have been the only person in Virginia who thought that the Chiefs were going to win Super Bowl IV. She got me interested in it and it was the first football game I ever watched. So I have been a Chiefs fan since then. (With the Redskins as a secondary team as they were the local team when I was a kid)
After my parent’s divorced, we moved to K.C., where I spent most of my childhood and young adulthood.
I Lived in Las Vegas for a few years after high school, mostly singing in a band and avoiding working for a living.
I moved back to KC around 1990. I was at the first Chiefs playoff win in forever, (against The Raiders) with tickets I got from Steve Deberg (whose college roomate was a friend of my Aunt’s)
I still own and wear a Mark Mcmillian jersey.
I was at the Seattle rain game with a date. When they stopped the game, I was afraid that she was going to want to leave. Instead she said “This gives me an opportunity get another beer” We will celebrate our 10 year anniversary in April.
I think Priest Holmes in his prime was the best running back I have ever seen.
I went to game 7 of the 1985 World Series, and have been waiting since then to purchase Chiefs Super Bowl tickets.
I live for the day (hopefully soon) that I can watch the draft without seeing on the crawl “Have not won a playoff game since 1993”
I work as a dealer at a local casino. My wife and I have a dog and cat but no children.
Nice Hookup
From Steve DeBerg….thats awesome. I am confident that Pioli and Haley will lead us to the Promise Land…hopefully our dreams for the Chiefs will come true sooner than later.
Who who'd have thought that SITTEN in the rain was better than SINGIN in the rain
Congrats on finding that person. BUT maybe you were singing and sitting?

My name is Tom
I am in the Army and stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. I love the Chiefs, been a fan since the Steve Fuller, Ted McKnight, Art Still, and Gary Barbaro days. I’ve had season tickets the last two years, but will not renew this year since I will be moving to Fort Hood, Texas. Even though the Chiefs have been bad the last two years I have capitilized on Chiefs NFL Gear. It’s always on sale in the KC area!!!
Denver Sucks!!!!!
Hey
Isnt that where they had Michael Vick….in Fort Leavenworth? I heard they are letting him ride out the rest of his time at home now…
Jeff
I live in Westminster, CO. Been here since 1971 and I manage a garden center here in town. I lived in Nebraska as a kid in the late 60’s and of course, I was a big Husker fan. I also liked the Chiefs (cool uni’s and liked Otis Taylor). In 1972 the Chiefs drafted my favorite Husker, Jeff Kinney and although he never panned out, I’ve been a big fan of the Chiefs ever since. I would also like to add, in all those years, I do not remember an off-season that I have been this excited about the Chief’s future!
你好
我的名字是马特。我是美国人。Ok, no more foreign language introductions. My name is Matt, I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area but I now live in Beijing.
I come from the most disfunctional football family on the planet. One of my older brothers is a Raiders fan (we grew up close to Oakland), I became a Chiefs fan when I was 8 or 9 just piss that brother off, and my oldest brother hass been living is San Diego for years and has adopted the Chargers!
I’ve only seen the Chiefs play once (in Oakland) and I made it out of the stadium without getting stabbed. One of the 1st things I want to do when I get back State side is to go to Arrowhead.
Nice Name...
You can ask your brothers how the view is from behind us this year….Its finally our time to shine.
On the other hand...
I think it might take a few years before we return to the glory days, but we are headed in the right direction.
As my username suggests,
my name is Seth. I’m a 22-year-old college student in Hays, KS, originally born in Garden City, KS. I’m trying, slowly, to make my way through college – I’m currently working on the 6-year plan for my 4-year degree in Music Technology.
Pfft. Garden City is Oakland to Dodge City's San Fran.
Just kidding. I lived in Dodge City as a little kid, just had to comment something for the old school, left coast of KS. :)

Yeah,
Dodge is so awesome that they had to steal the Hatchet from Garden when they couldn’t win it fair and square in the annual HS football clash. (Of course, this year’s team had to go and let all of Garden down…)
Nice to hear from another southwestern Kansan! It’s nice enough, but I’m glad I did make my way away from it – even if it’s only 2 hours away. At least I can’t still smell the meat packing plants and cattle feedyards up here in Hays.

I grew up in the hills of West Virginia but I spent the summers of my teenage years (the mid to late 80’s) in KC, while my father lived there. I’ve been a Chiefs fan since. Sadly I never got to attend a chiefs game but had season tickets for the Royals. I live in Tallahassee, FL now and work in prepress at the local newspaper.
Local Newspaper?
Do you hate the internet?
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.
'09, a new era begins in Kansas City.

Born and raised in the SEK. Now 21, living and going to school at “THE” University of Kansas. Chiefs fan since birth, I can remember going to Royals games and spending pregame walkin around Arrowhead in awe with my Dad- there’s no place like it. Not afraid to admit that at my very first Chiefs game- a 56-10 drubbing of the Michael Vick Falcons- my eyes swelled with tears of pride when I heard 78,000 Red and Gold let Atlanta know they were at “..the home, of the CHIIIEEEFFFSSS!”
Chris
Born and raised in K.C. I joined the United States Coast Guard in 2005 and now reside working at the Marine Safety Unit in Valdez, Alaska as a radio watchstander. Any boats taking on water, on fire, running aground, leaking oil, injuries on the water…anything of a distress nature, I answer the call. The voice of the Coast Guard, you can say. I met the most amazing woman here. A native. We eloped last May and have been the happiest couple ever since. We are moving to St. Louis in May or June and I’ll hopefully be able to come to a game this season and watch all the other games on T.V. I guess I’ll have to get satellite for that. What’s better, Dish or DirecTV? I’ll figure it out. I’m relatively new here as well. It’s nice to meet you, Matt_Gurbac.
There's no hope with dope...
DirecTV + NFL Sunday Ticket
Also, I’m former Navy and lived in Anchorage when my father was Air Force. BZ.

Nice to meet you too.
If the real coast guard is anything like the movies it takes a bada** to make it. Glad to hear from guys like you that put your safety on the line for other people.
I just got Directv and I like it…I switched from Comcast Cable.Directv has the sports hookup…..Dish doesnt.
Thats great
My dad who lives in Eudora KS. claims to be a member of the KS coast Guard. He guards the Wakarussa. MO needs some new recruits to protect the Missouri seashore even ST. Louis.

Sir, you have the best comment yet.

You might as well just call me "Tat"
My real name has become something of sidebar since the rumor of a certain pigmented testicular adornment swept through the community faster than crabs through a brothel.
I am married with a young daughter who has me wrapped around her finger (and by that I mean I’ve already acquired 3 complete Chiefs outfits for her). There is another wee one due in September, much to our delight.
Otherwise, I’m a mild-mannered insurance consultant getting ready to turn 29 for the second time. In other words, I’m 10 years sir eccles’ senior.

I live in Estevan, SK, Canada. I am 33 and am a wildlife biologist for a non profit conservation organization. I like sunsets and long walks on the beach. Nonsmoker looking for chief fans to waste away my sundays with.
I am on a quest to find the answer to one of life's great mysteries-
Is guppy alive?

I’m 23, born in Chi-city, now reside in Lawrence, KS, im a manager at Hy-Vee, (WORKD MY WAY UP FORM SAKING GROSERIES LIKE JON MCGRAW!!!) and play in the band Ample Branches. I’ve been a self made chiefs fan (parents were bears fans) for as long as I can remember. I check this site at least 3 times a day, and have been doing so for well over a year. I don’t post too often, but my favorite posters since i’ve been on this site are primetime07, UCrawford, Lanier63, and DThomasReigns, and Guppy. I’d love to someday actually meet in person a chiefs fan who is as obsessed as I am.
AP forever!

No doubt. It is my lifelong dream also.
But sadly they may disappoint you with their nervous ticks and uncontrollable shaking. It might be easier on you to visit the Psych ward at your local hospital. Those people are similar to what you might meet here :)

Work in the Life Insurance field as a supervisor. Not married, but as close as you can be without the title.
Shes a Giants fan, but I love her anyway.
Brett, born on St. John Ave in Northeast, lived in Blue Springs, Independence, Greenwood, KC, Mo, Tucson, Az for 2 years with all of the pseudo Steeler and Raider fans and now I’m back in KC living in Raytown. Joined but never went to the Air Force, got an 85 on the ASVAB and could have been a Satelite Communications Specialist…Really messed that up, so now I’m working for my dad’s plumbing company and I’m going to go take the Master Plumber’s test on March 20th, other than that I’m THE most boring person you will ever meet in your entire life and I have the personality of a potato. DIE HARD CHIEFS FAN, went to my first game in my mother’s womb.

Hey howdy
I’m Stacey, blameable wife to the aforementioned Sir Eccles. I’m 35 7/12 years old as of today, which makes me a Chiefs fan for 36 1/3 years. More if you count my lineage, which goes back to the day the Dallas Texans announced their move to KC.
Born and raised in the OPKS; I’ve been in NYC for going on 13 years now. I’m a Jill of many trades and about five different careers.
I don’t post here as much as I should as my current job is insane, but the husband keeps me in AP highlights over evening cocktails.
I knew Grits was a GAL!!!!!!
but was afraid to ask….
