I was reading the post about Tony DiPardo having hip surgery and it made me think of the boneheaded decision to remove the bandstand area from the new Arrowhead. Live music is a huge component to great game day atmosphere. Tony and Patti have provided a huge gift to Chiefs fans over the years. I have been to games in several NFL cities (Miami, San Diego, Buffalo, Minneapolis) and it always amazes me how lousy and boring the "professional" game day atmosphere is compared to the college game. Marching bands and drumlines provide a huge amount to the overall excitement of the college game experience. Even on TV, college game environments are so much better than the NFL's. Most NFL teams just pump in top 40 hits. The Chiefs always brag about how KC has a collegiate atmosphere but I think the new Arrowhead needs more live music, not less. Live music = more excitement = better home field advantage.
