2nd Receiver
Is Mark Bradley really the answer at the number two receiver slot? He was a great value last year, but I am worried about his ability to stay healthy and be productive over a whole season (even if healthy). Check out his numbers at NFL.com:

I would argue for keeping Bradley on the roster and letting him compete for PT. However, counting on Bradley and Will Franklin to be our #2 and #3 receivers (not necessarily in that order) seems overly optimistic. The Chiefs need more real competition at receiver. Perhaps Laveranues Coles, just cut by the Jets?

Or should we focus on drafting a player in the middle rounds?
Is all of this a moot discussion? Are we going to draft Crabtree?

Does Laveraues want to be a #2?
He turned down $6 million guaranteed he had coming by the Jets. He either wants more money or a better chance of winning, neither of which the Chiefs can likely offer.

What about Mark Clayton
Bucs speed receiver that has not played up to expectations. He is a vertical receiver in a horizontal scheme. He might be a good FA pickup with some value.

Franklin and Bradley should be plenty.
Franklin showed some flashes last year. If I remember correctly, he was injured for most of training camp too. Give him an offseason with Haley and he’ll be all we need.

Agreed
Bradley hasn’t done anything to show he doesn’t deserve that spot.
For Franklin, rookie WRs usually take a couple years to develop so we’re nowhere near giving up on him. I think if he develops well he’ll fit in fine.

+1
Bradley was one of the FEW bright spots in the ’08 season.
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.

Except D BOWE!!
but he’s a freak of nature… I agree our team has enough receivers… Just wish we had a deep threat then Thiggy would do all kinds of damage
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.

Thiggy
is not so good at the deep ball. Pretty good in the 15 to 25 yard range though.

If he were cheap
I wouldn’t be opposed to it. He’s been successful before.
He would be an upgrade over Bradley, IMO, which I think is what really matters.

Yes, he would
But I dont think he wants to go somewhere cheap or unsuccessful…

We currently have two receivers
Tong G and Dwayne B.
They are our 1st and 2nd throwing options. I happen to think Bowe makes a great 2nd receiver since Tony is the primary target.
As for Bradley I think he was a flash in the pan. He came on like gangbusters in his frist couple of games and then as instantly got injured. Coincidentally the same tihng he did in Chicago. As Herm used to say, You gotta be on the field to play.
I say if we can pick up a 3rd option to stretch the field it would be nice, but I dont see it as a necessity unless we trade Tony, then we will need a #1 WR

That's been the knock on Bradley
That he’s been injury prone.
I’m not opposed to Bradley, but if we find an upgrade then let’s go for it.

Tony G is our number 2
But I agree, if we have an opportunity to upgrade do it. At every position.

At the combine
the receivers were the most consistent group of performers and some really impressed me. I would not be opposed to picking someone like Deon Butler(4.38-40) in a mid level. He was the most consistent receiver out of the 3 senior WRs at Penn State. Or if we just want consistency, Brian Robiske if he is still there in the 3rd or 4th. He is a complete receiver and runs great routes, but I guess you’ll have that if your dad is an NFL Receiver’s Coach.
