Salary Cap Increased to $127 Million

Profootballtalk.com just reported the NFL salary cap limit increased

This also means that the  league minimum spending will increase by about three million dollars.  Meaning the Chiefs now have to spend about $36 million just to meet league requirements.  With the Free Agent market slimming down already by contract extensions.  What are we going to do with all this cap room?  I would still think there are plenty of free agents to sign, ones that will definately improve our team.  Which is good.  I would also look to a couple of extensions on our own team such as Page.

This number is only going to increase as we continue to cut players as well.

Trading LJ may have just gotten out of reach

if we trade him our cap space would be HUGE

Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.

If we trade him pre 6/1

we take a 20 million dollar cap hit and clear our books. If we cut him we take a 15 million dollar cap hit and still clear the books of him. This increases the odds of LJ leaving. Good riddens.

It will very slightly hurt us

Simply b/c other teams acquire more cap space. Inform me more but 4 mil just does not seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

I'll take that extra 3mil

You know just to look after for a while, they can cut me later int he season or put me on IR if they want. Just don’t trade me to the Raiders.

Blame my wife!
