February 2009 Scott Pioli Job Approval Rating

It's that time of the month again but in a good way.
Do you approve or disapprove of the way Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli is handling his job?
Our previous job approval rating of Clark Hunt is here. We'll re-vote on Clark at the the begining of March and get back on an even schedule with both of them in April. That's when we'll start the Todd Haley approval ratings as well.

While I don't disapprove,
What have they really done yet? Post-free agent signings would have been a more opportune time to gauge approval I think. So far, they’ve just hired coaches and talked to prospects at the combine. Not much to disapprove of as of yet I don’t think.
All I have to say is "Thank you, Clark."

I'm surprised
by the high margin of approval votes (I approved prior to seeing unsure… ), but I won’t be surprised if no one disapproves.

We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

pioli
dodges questions like porn stars dodge aids. I seen an interview with him he dodged most questions hahha which is cool but I would like to get some details. And free agency will be the factor on his approval im sure we will make a splash.

Maybe he'll decide to join AP and give us all the low down first

He should I wish
we could get some players or even pioli or clark to come on here and have like a chat with us or maybe we can put together some questions and he can answer them that would be awsome. Im pretty sure we have the power look at the fan stats.

This time of year
you aren’t going to get many details if any. This is the “world series of poker” in sports. Throw in the fact he never released any details while working with Belichik and you have the tightest poker player in the game.

I chose unsure based on
the fact that we haven’t had the opportunity to sign any players.
It is wat to early to tell.

Why I Voted "Good Job"
First, everybody that says it is too early to tell is definitely right. But I think his main job was to change the culture of the program and that he has done right away and effectively—we don’t even know our coaches job titles. So, that was enough for me.
I was not real pleased with some of the coaching hires, but I liked the fact that we did sign a lot of younger 40 something coaches (that is not uncommon with position coaches though) plus a few older coaching veterans. I also liked the report that was posted earlier where at the Chiefs came up as one of the most prepared and strategic teams at the Combine interviews. I am glad to see a plan. I think all too often Carl Peterson lacked a plan. For instance, I look at the Colts and see no Marvin Harrison but I see a Wayne and a Gonzalez. I see no Favre in Green Bay but I see a Rogers. When the strongest part of the Chiefs “run” in the early 21st Century retired (Shields & Roaf), there was absolutely nobody there ready to replace them. He did however have a Larry ready to replace a Priest. I am hoping that Pioli can not only build a team that is more competitive next year, but a team that doesn’t suffer from peaks and valleys.

Too early to tell....
I’d feel more comfortable in June to see if he’s taken the steps needed to gradually improve the team.
Not Unsure, but more like not enough to make an opinion as of late.
Opinions are like A--holes, everyones got one.

They still haven't done anythign to improve the defense
I’m still waiting to see something positive done on the defensive side of the ball before I fully approve.
