Chiefs 2009 Schedule

I need to start doing homework and stop doing this.

Have you guys seen our scheduled opponents for next season? Honestly it kind of makes me nervous. I've decided to make a mock schedule for next season. Hopefully I can run htis by Pioli and he agrees with me on it. The season will probably start on Sunday September 6. Here is how it should go down!

9/6 PITTSBURGH

9/13 at Philadelphia

9/20 DALLAS (its my birthday weekend and i'd love to see Dallas get their asses kicked that weekend!)

9/27 at Baltimore

10/4 at San Diego

10/11 NY GIANTS

10/18 at Denver

10/25 at Oakland

11/1 bye

11/8 BUFFALO

11/15 at Washington

11/22 Cincinnati

11/29 SAN DIEGO

12/7 DENVER (monday night game)

12/13 at Jacksonville

12/20 OAKLAND

12/27 CLEVELAND

I set my schedule up like this for a few reasons. I wanted us to start off playing our best opponents. If we start playing the elite teams first, we may get our asses kicked but we're bound to improve over the course of the season. When the second half of the season emerges, we'll have taken our lumps and started to show how good we are. From there, we just kick everyone's ass. I also chose to finish off the regular season with a bunch of home games against teams that SUCK (I do not think San Diego wont be that good next year). Arrowhead Stadium will terrify our opponents and they wont be able to handle the cold. The end reult? AFC West Champions. In Pioli/Haley we trust.

What do you guys think?

Oh and on a side note, is it just me or is the Combine pretty much pointless?

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I think Arrowhead will have more people in it

because we have Dallas, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, NY Giants coming to the greatest stadium ever…..they all have fans that travel with the team…well maybe not Cleveland anymore.

Plus we will be better right?

Denver Sucks!!!!!

tough

from the looks of it we could go 1-7 before the bye.

by Red and Gold on Feb 22, 2009 5:18 PM CST reply actions

I bet we would go 3-5

Dallas is in disarray, I think San Diego will not be that good next year and Oakalnd just blows. The first half seems pretty tough but I don’t see why we can’t finish 8-0 in the second half. But then again I’m an optimist.

They may be adding Ray Lewis

If so, he is someone who can add some leadership and hold players accountable.

: ) !!!!!

finally a monday night game. to be honest, i have never seen chiefs play on monday night

A 2-14 team probably won't get a Monday Nighter unless your name starts with NY

You are probably right that we will have some other Poor teams at end of season because of this seasons record and TV would ignore us anyway. We will probably have a couple of tough games early so TV could talk about our changes before TV thinks we will become a non-issue. I imagine that the Division games will be split a little more Home-Away than what you have listed. It does look pretty formidable for a team in transition. Without knowledge of how much good work we do this off-season predicting a record would be impossible now.

game against denver

Hopefully the game against Denver will be for the Division.

I don't know.

Pioli and a new coaching staff brings some intrigue. I am sure they could put up some story lines. At the end of the day you are probably right though. The last Prime Time game I attended was Thanksgiving night. What a freaking game. That is the atmosphere I miss.

best

Monday night. Buffalo at Arrowhead. I think it was the season after Bills 4th SB. We ran it down their throats. Most electric I ever felt Arrowhead.

Tim Tebow.....concrete cyanide. Thanks jg.

After looking at the teams on our schedule.

I’m not gonna say the R-word and heaven knows the West is weak. But,
maybe this would be a year to try to groom that Franchise QB. NFC East
is usually tough and the AFC North is tough in the smack you in the mouth kinda way.
Throw in Buffalo that seems to run Hot/Cold and Jacksonville that usually has the biggest fattest men to try to push around. Pioli said that he was thinking long-term
with building this team, Cap thinking in future, needs next year and so forth.
Maybe this is going to be a I Love that pick, why did we get him type of off-season.
We’re already trying to figure out the coaching staff. Whatcha think?

Well....right off the bat....

The schedule is impossible….

The Super Bowl Champion always starts the season in prime-time at home on a Thursday….

Sorry to Debbie Downer….

hopefully

we dont get pushed around, because most of the NFL would be watching it.

Hopefully that game sunday will be for the conference.

Sounds like Griffin may not play tomorrow night.

No...opposite...

That actually eliminates a prime-time opportunity since Pittsburgh is coming to Arrowhead and the opening prime-time game will be AT Pittsburgh…

Monday Night Game

Yeah right. We won’t have any primetime games coming up. Not until 2010!

Pittsburgh

The SuperBowl champs will play at home their first game! Not at arrowhead.

by Alaskan Chief on Feb 22, 2009 8:12 PM CST reply actions
