David Buelher holy crap!

Did anyone see what this guy did at the combine.  USC kicker that put up 25 reps of 225.  that was more than Eugene Monroe and 26 other OLinemen.  He ran a 4.6 forty and he boots it in the end zone.  This guy would be a good special teamer after the kick off.  I don't want to draft him but I thought it was worth noting.

Fun stuff to talk about on a slow day of news.

Yeah that's a lot

But does it really matter with a kicker?

almost like a woman having three nipples

…but now that I mention that?

We need a future defensive leader, his name is James Laurinaitis and he can be selected in round 1 of the upcoming Draft.

If your special teams tackles like ours...

He might make the play to save a td LOL

1 extra point last year

And only a couple of FG misses. He didn’t attempt a FG in their only loss of the season so he’s not hurting the team.

At USC last year?

65 for 66 ain’t bad.

9 for 13 in FG, 3 of the chunkers coming in the UCLA game where he clearly tweaked a little, all 40+ though.

All in all he kicks it into the endzone and would be a hellacious late round pick except we kinda blew our last attempt at drafting a kicker, and considering our needs elsewhere a badass kicker is kinda a luxury we can’t afford.

Also, with the new Haley-Gailey Spread (questionable defensive movement thusfar) we don’t see the strategy being a Herm-style “let’s win this game by 2 in the last minute 45 guys” type offense, so the kicker isn’t likely the intended top scorer, we hope.

Agreed

We have a lot more needs that are important in the building process. A good kicker is icing on the cake. We lost so many games the last two seasons that a kicker isn’t going to change that to much.

But a badass kicker

that could kick it into the endzone almost everytime sure would help our lousy defense. I dont see it as a luxury i see it as a major need for this team.

the better the offense

the more important special teams become. more possessions, more special teams plays.

current Chiefs roster + 1 premiere LB FA + Crabtree + defensive draft = CONTENDAHS

why the hell do kickers run the 40?

by SayHeyWerd on Feb 22, 2009 4:15 PM CST reply actions

WHy do linemen run the 40

None of them sprint that far.

I would too

if i were a kicker. I wouldn’t really need to, but it would be like a sort of self test, that shows determination or something.

by Red and Gold on Feb 22, 2009 4:36 PM CST up reply actions

but they do sprint at least a little bit. Kickers take 4 steps and their done

by SayHeyWerd on Feb 23, 2009 5:16 PM CST up reply actions

Combine news

David Buehler of USC had the strongest kickoff leg as most of his kicks went 70+ yards deep into the opposite end zone. His problem came during the field goal portion of the session as Buehler missed on all three attempts from 50 yards.
