Browns and Chiefs Trade?
So I'm reading this article:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-thegameface022009&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
And in the section titled: TAKE IT TO THE AIM
The Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs will complete a trade at some point over the offseason, and no one will find out about it for several days...
That's a pretty open ended statement. Anyone heard of this or have additional 411? I'm just speculating, but could this be where LJ lands?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

They fired him, why would we have to trade for him?
by ChiefDJ on Feb 20, 2009 2:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I didn't mean a real "trade"
But maybe that’s what they were getting at. Trying to think of anything.
by Joel Thorman on Feb 20, 2009 2:53 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'm pretty sure
this was a tongue and cheek jab at the secrecy the two franchises have conducted themselves thus far during the off season. Since the Browns hired their new head coach, they’ve been in lock down, much like the Chiefs have been since Hunt’s search for his new GM and the continuation of that secrecy by Pioli.
I seriously doubt this guy has any real info on a future trade this early in the off season.

Never trust a Beaver...
They don’t make PAC10 homers bigger than me, but even I don’t want some Beaver trash.

Even if
it’s a stinky beaver I’ll take Anderson over LJ. LJ is a locker room cancer, DA isn’t.

Who else do the Browns have that the Chiefs might want?
by Vince D on Feb 20, 2009 2:54 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Quinn or Winslow or Edwards?
Just saying “maybe”
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

Not Edwards or Quinn
Just my guess. Winslow I know isn’t guaranteed to stick around.
by Joel Thorman on Feb 20, 2009 2:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I'd love to have Quinn
But theres no way the Browns will trade him.
by ChiefDJ on Feb 20, 2009 3:07 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Quinn's Going Nowhere
They’ve got nobody coming out in free agency or the draft who looks like a better candidate to replace him. I doubt Pioli is insane enough to trade for Derek Anderson and his sub-50% completion percentage. But Winslow might be in play…the Browns had a lot of issues with him last year, he was not a happy camper, and he’s a holdout threat (plus they’ve got a couple of TEs who might be able to fill in for him and they need a running back because Jamal Lewis is almost done).
Although, if the Chiefs could get Winslow and Anderson, or Anderson and a third or fourth round pick, that would be a pretty good deal. Probably too good for Larry Johnson, but what the hell…let’s dream a little. :)
Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.

I think having Winslow
would be sweet. Let us be reminded he’s a fucking warrior. I always thought he was mad talented and having him play together with Tony would be special, but maybe he’d be brought in to REPLACE Tony?

Not a warrior but...

I'm still trippin' over this
Why the !@#$ would you busry that in the middle of an article? I just don’t get this at all.

I think it was just some guys prediction
Like us sitting around saying the Chiefs will draft a QB in the 3rd round. We have no proof of it, we just think thats whats going to happen.
The rest of the points in the “Take it to the ATM” article was:
After hitting free agency and realizing he is less marketable than he thought he was, Kerry Collins will quietly re-sign with the Titans… Kurt Warner and Anquan Boldin will suit up for the Cardinals in the 2009 season opener, but Edgerrin James will have been granted his wish to play elsewhere.
So the guy is just spouting off. It doesn’t mean anything is really going on.

I Pray it's LJ
They could give us Ted Washingtons sweaty jock strap and a bag of potato chips for LJ, and I’d be fine with it. I just want him out of KC.

If a trade is made...
would the Chiefs have to comply with Andersons salary? Isn’t it a fairly LARGE one at that? Not sure I like the idea of him coming in without having a restructure.
All I have to say is "Thank you, Clark."

Not that big

Cap charge: $8.8 million (2009).

LJ for DA makes sense too much sense
Chiefs don’t need LJ Browns don’t need DA. Browns could use LJ Chiefs could use DA. Both have large contracts and are probably worth a 3rd or 4th round pick based on past potential. If there was going to be a trade made, this is it.

I'd pee my pants if that happened
Rogers would turn our D-line into one of the best in football

Mangini Apparently Likes Rogers
So I don’t think he’s going anywhere.

Mangini like Rogers...
OH AND YEAH F*cKIN’ RIGHT!! Shaun Rogers for LJ!?! Shaun Rogers is a beast. Why would the Browns even think about that?? Dumb.
We may be "playing to win the game", but it seems like we're coaching to lose.
'09, a new era begins.
For the land of the free and the home of the CHIEFS!

Derek Anderson Trade
Couldn’t be done until March 15th but there are “”http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/comments/anderson-trade-a-possibility-for-bucs/" >serious rumors" that he’ll be traded.
by Joel Thorman on Feb 20, 2009 3:02 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
crap...that means it's a possibility

Better fit for bucs?
Can he actually run the Arrow Spread? If they are keeping it around.

If we are running the ArrowSpread
Then I say keep Thigpen.

Well
Derek Anderson #3 Quarterback Cleveland Browns
Height: 6-6 Weight: 230
Born: Jun 15, 1983 – Portland, OR
College: Oregon State
Draft: 2005 – 6th round (39th pick) by the Baltimore Ravens
He “fits” the NE size model.
But he has a 66.5 QB rating,

Bad memories of Anderson
When I think of this dude all I can remember is that game he pulled off against KC where he had that big run to win the game!
by Nelly on Feb 20, 2009 3:06 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Oh the secrecy!
I like the comment of how we will not find out for days. The season is going to begin and we are not even going to know who is on the team.
by Nelly on Feb 20, 2009 3:04 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I don't see what would be wrong with this trade
Hell LJ was probably going to be released anyway. Why not bring in DA in a trade for LJ. He can give Thigpen some competition and he is better than Huard or Brodie.
Look at the benefits…(of course I think they both will have to restructure their contracts to make it work but)
Benefits
1. No more LJ
2. We get compensated for the whiner
3. Competition for Thigpen, depth
4. We don’t have to waste draft pick on rookie QB (if Stafford is gone of course) as we can totally concentrate on our Defense and OL

Backup.
I like Anderson ok, but I like Thiggy’s scramble abillity better. If its true, I hope he is a backup.

I would not be opposed to him QBing here
