I think I should apologize to you guys
As those of you who have been members of AP for a long time know, I can be pretty opinionated regarding the Kansas City Chiefs. The problem is that sometimes I get a little carried away when I am trying to make a point. Earlier today, Woodman raised my awareness about a comment I made regarding certain members being drunk on the Chiefs kool-aid. At the time that I made that comment, I didn't really see the issue with it but, after looking at it further, I realize that I could have maybe chosen a different way to make my point. More after the jump (I always wanted to say that)
We all have differing opinions about where this team is headed, whether or not our coach can do the job, whether or not our QB can do the job etc. Just because I feel that the team isn't heading in the right direction or no matter how I feel about Matt Cassel (I think he stinks by the way) I shouldn't expect everyone else to feel the same way. No matter what though, I am the type of person who is big enough to step up when I am in the wrong. That is what I am doing now.
AP is great place where people like you and me can get together and discuss something we are all very passionate about. The Chiefs. In times like these, that passion can get away from you and turn into comments that could be construed as being over the top, negative, and overall just not conducive to an online community such as Arrowhead Pride. I think it's important that we are all aware that everyone here wants the team to win and we all want to be supportive of the team, and I promise no matter how my comments may come out, I am supportive of the team.
We are all frustrated, especially after the last 2 weeks. We all know there are issues on this team that may take a very long time to get fixed but, that's no excuse for being an asshole to other community members. I want to let you guys know that I am sorry for my lack of tact and I hope I didn't offend anyone. I will try to be more aware of it and nip it before it happens. At the same time, my opinion is still what it is. I still think Matt Cassel is an awful QB and I still question some of Todd Haley's moves. (even though I am actually coming around regarding Haley) I think we need some new coaches and LOTS of new players this coming offseason. That being said, I will do my best to be more respectful to other AP members because I know deep down that we are all in this together and for the most part, we are the only ones who really care about the Chiefs.
Let's get a big fat W against Buffalo this weekend-Go Chiefs!!!!
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I respect that
Way to man up. You are absolutely right when you said that we are all in this together and even though we may differ in how we think things should be done, we are all voicing what we believe will be the best for the beloved Chiefs.
Great post.
Yes good job...rec...
…but I must disagree with a victory over Buffalo. I see in now way of us winning. Yep I said it. Absolutely no way.
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
I mean "in no way of us winning"
Gotta spell check stuff more often…
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
The one game I thought we had no chance of winning was the Steelers...
And we all know how that one turned out.

I'm about as sad as people who experience the Great Depression and those who experienced Katrina put together.
They are even favorites. They have TO. They destroyed us IN ARROWHEAD 54-31. I just dont see a victory. I guess you could look at the stats and say that we are evenly matched somewhat…but I have learned this season to never get your hopes up too high, or you will be crushed.

Anything can happen Sunday...
I go into every weekend with the mindset that we will win (yes, even the Steelers). Nothing is guaranteed on Sundays.
I was at that game last year...
And not a single member of this defense could tackle. Not one. This year, if we mind our gaps (and Clancy doesn’t get too damn cute with his formations) the story might be a little different.

Actually, mixing things up is the best hope.
And the Chiefs have a definite shot at disrupting the QB with blitzes. Not sure if they’ve yanked Edwards, yet, or if he’s hurt, but I’ve felt that the criticism of him this season was unwarranted. Like Cassel, there’s been little for him to count on in terms of protections.
Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.
I agree...
I think we are going to lose this one too.
I think their D has played very well in spots, and they'll play without fear of what KC can do to them, most likely.
And I think playing without fear is the best style, regardless of the team you face, but it’s especially dominating against teams with any kinds of insecurities on offense.

Thanks Chiefsfan
This shows just how big a heart and passion you have for the Chiefs. That’s what being a fan is all about.
You made a statement here that I think sometimes people forget and that all the members here are fans of the Chiefs and everyone here wants to see them win. We all have a common goal here. That goal is to see the Kansas City Chiefs win and support them. We do that by posting the news of the Chiefs, commenting, analyze them to the best of our ability, post personal experiences, etc.
Literally thousand of people come to this site and I guarantee you not one of us has the same view of the Chiefs that the other has. Everyone sees them differently. But many assume that everyone sees it their way and for those that don’t we wonder why the can’t see what we see in the team.
It’s a persons opinion and most everyone respects that, at the same token a somewhat rational explanation of why is wanted by most of us. Not because we want to argue about it, rather, we want to know why people feel that way.
That is why I get upset personally at people that come on here and make a blanket statement like, “The Chiefs Suck!”
Well, okay, but why?
So for all the passion and dedication you have for our Chiefs, I thank you. Just pull back the throttle a little and you’ll be just fine.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
I too am big enough to man up...
And if ever comes a time when I am wrong i will do so.

Oh and this probably goes without saying, I think we’ll bounce back and win this week.
Feeling "The Love" and "Drinking the Kool AId"
1970
No apologies needed. I remember when I first joined AP this year, I couldn’t believe that there were so many other Chiefs fans out there at my disposal to communicate with. I was surprised to see the different opinions about our team and where it’s headed in the near and far future. Since that day, I’ve slowly but surely integrated AP into my daily routine and into my life without even trying.
I live on the east coast, and I’ve rarely come across Chiefs fans in my travels. Nevertheless, I am grateful that I have an outlet like this because only true fans like the ones on this site share my love for the organization that is the Kansas City Chiefs. If you all live in my laptop, and I never see you in person, or see your faces, or hear your voices then so be it. My participation on this website is enough to get me through each day and each season. AP is like a fraternity. And being Chiefs fans we are a part of a brotherhood that will get through the bad times. We will fight with other teams’s fans and we will fight with each other. We will drink the Kool-Aid, and we will bash Haley. We will embrace Cassel, and we will curse him. There will be a victory to brighten my week, and there will be 2 weeks of blowouts that make me sit in my office and only come out because I have to do the work required to keep my business running. But no matter what, I love the Chiefs, and I will not back down to anybody that is gonna slam our team, our love for our team, or any unfortunate circumstances we must endure this season or any season God has blessed me with the life to witness.
Your post, Chiefsfan1970, is the reason why I take pride in wearing my Chiefs gear every Sunday and going toe to toe with the fairweather fans of teams that have had the fortune of winning the Superbowl in my lifetime. If my life had taken a different route and I stayed with football longer, I would have begged God to make the Chiefs draft me so I could be the one to help end our darkest hour. Seeing as that is not the case, I’m gonna do my part to research, debate, and celebrate with the likes of you on this site everyday as I have been since I found AP……..stay strong my friend. We will all rejoice when the Chiefs make it to the big show. These posts will be filled with exclamation marks and all caps and it will be justified. We are gonna look back on today and laugh, and then we are gonna post mock drafts to our heart’s content. Not because we hope to be better then bad, but because at that time greatness will not be good enough…………….

Awesome man.
It’s always real important just to remember we are all here for the same thing. We are in this together. Chiefs success is more important than who is right and wrong.

1970 - rec'd and amazing post, my brother
not sure I read the post you refer to … plenty of Kool-Aid posts have been tossed about, for better or worse, but if you feel the need to apologize, then you rock on … I know you and I are often on the same side of frustration with the team, and share many thoughts and ideas
and don’t you worry now that you’ve turned this new leaf, 1970, I’m sure I’ll insult enough APers for both of us soon enough
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
I dont think you need to apoligize either
Frustration begins and ends with the product on the field and we haven’t been given a good product in a long time. At least we are all able to come here and vent some frustrations, but at the same time see that there is hope because the other 2,978,374 members of AP aren’t going to let any one person get down our our Chiefs. Use me as a kicking post if you need to, I can take it, but keep your head up and know that soon we are all going to look back on this season and say, “Man I’m sure glad we got those losing seasons behind us, Lets win a Super Bowl!”
Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.

Listen brother...you and I have always gotten along great in here.
We have nothing but love for you. We ALL get a little bonkers over the Chiefs. So welcome aboard. That just shows you love your Chiefs and so do we. There’s a fine line between being an asshole and being passionate and someone else being a big baby about everything.
We are all a little messed up over this season. I for one think everyone should stop being so sensitive. We are all here for the same reason and are ALL entitled to our opinions. We don’t have to agree. In fact we shouldn’t always agree. That would be boring.
I can’t imagine what you said that was offensive but it was nice of you to acknowledge it. Relax your with family.!!!
Hey AP…I luvs you all…(even you kool aid coo coo’s) lol!
I really don't think
you need to apologize unless you feel you’ve offended some kook-aid drinking contributor who likes Matt Cassel, who gets worse every game and Todd Haley, who, in his Monday presser was rude by showing up about a half hour late and immediately jumped a reporter who questioned him about his sacred cow. Personally I think Haley should apologize.
What makes this site interesting is when people just let their emotionally charged opinions fly as long as they don’t cross the line, and I don’t feel that you have.
Excellent post, 1970--and rec'd.
Apology accepted. Hey, we’re all in it for the same thing—Chiefs victories. And as long as there are unquestioning minds in life, having a cynic or two around will always come in handy.
Keep up the good work and GO CHIEFS.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure an apology was even needed.
But it’s the thought that counts. Merry Christmas BTW.

Great post!
I have to disagree with some posters that we will lose this week. I felt early on in the season that a 5-11 record is where this team will winds up (and I still believe this). My “Out on a Limb” prediction for this “Quarter” is an ugly win this week (16-13) followed by a stronger win against the Browns (27-10). I’m afraid that Cincy will beat us (24-17) (makes me sick to think that 2.7 gets to gloat about this one) and we finish with a close loss to the Bronco’s(24-20). Time will tell how close I am but no matter what I AM A CHIEFS FAN!!!!
So you think you are so important that no one can replace you? Put your finger in a bucket of water and pull it out. Does it leave a hole? Nope, just some ripples that eventually calm themselves!

Sometimes it is not about who agrees with us or not
Sometimes it is all about a different perspective. That’s why I come to AP I know what I think and feel about the team and how things are going. I’m not really looking for a group of people to agree with me on everything, what I’m looking for is what I don’t know. AP has the people that know stats and all sorts of things that I don’t know about in So. Miss. They have a passion for sharing everything Chiefs with everybody, and they post all sort of things that make me think, and That’s what I love most of all.
It is too easy to post this or that suck’s without giving the exact reasons why they suck, to say they suck is just an opinion and we know everyone has them, Tell me why I should agree with your opinion. AP is like a great debate centered around the Chiefs, no matter what your opinion you will find someone to share it with you. The real test of an opinion is can it be defended in such a way that it can change the minds of those that think differently from you. That’s one area where I think AP excels beyond any other site. I’m not a great writer like some here thus I limit myself to replying to others post, but I know should I come up with something I felt strongly enough on the write a post that there are plenty of you out there that would tell me not only what I got right but wrong as well.
It takes a big person to apologize and I accept yours, but to be honest I don’t recall being offended. I hope your post makes other think before they hit the “post” button and think about what they are really saying so that a post like this is never needed again. Do I think it’s going to happen no, but One can hope for such things.
is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?
This Chiefs team is closer to a new expansion team than it is a playoff contender, your expectations should match that.
It's all good
You’re a good guy. I think that nearly everyone realizes that a little venting is all about your care for the team. It makes us who we are. If everybody was of the same opinion here, it really wouldn’t be very entertaining at all.
Actually the more I think about it you SHOULD apologize!
In fact you should send yourself a verbal warning. Followed by a monetary settlement as repairations for your vile mouth. How dare you come in here and joke with people. If we wanted laughter and happiness we would have bought a ticket to the Improv.
From now on you need to stop promoting good welfare and a cooperative spirit among us. I am so over you and your caring compassionate attitude. Can u imagine if everyone on here were like you?
That would be chaos. Why there would no doubt be unbridled laugher and people teasing one another in spirit of brotherly fun. WE CAN’T HAVE THAT!!
Smithers – Release the hounds!! (-:
Not much to add except -
Geaux Chiefs!
Glad we’re all in this together.
"The way this works is you string together some good games, some good practices and you get momentum and you gain confidence," linebacker Mike Vrabel said. "It can be a real positive for your team. It builds on itself."
Is it just me or have we had a sudden outpouring of emotion around here?
Man, I love you guys and all, but I’d hate to see you all after three or four beers.
Braccae illae virides cum subucula rosea et tunica Caledonia-quam elenganter concinnatur!

Heh.
