Scott, Please post this to the Players
This is the Impossible Dream song made famous by Elvis Presley. It has been rewritten to try and instill some passion into our beloved Chiefs team.
To dream, a very possible dream
To fight for a touchdown is goal
To bear the unbearable losses
To run where the brave dare not go
To right the unrightable seasons
To love football and fans from afar
To try when your arms are too weary
To reach a winning season with Jamaal
This is my quest
To fight for those fans
No matter how hopeless
No matter how much pain
To fight for the fans
Without question or pause
To be willing to march into Hell
For a Chiefs cause
And I know if I'll only be true
To this glorious quest
That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
When I've done my best
And the Chiefs world will be better for this
That fifty three men, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with their last ounce of courage
To reach a winning season next year!

I like this Lanier
Especially the part about the Chiefs world being better for this. Some teams, like the Vikings this week, complain after a single loss. Once this team becomes a winner again, which it will, we should be able to appreciate every victory.

I feel like I just watched remember the Titans again.
Though much is taken,
much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are,
we are –
One equal temper of heroic hearts
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
- Alfred, Lord Tennyson ‘Ulysses’
