Chiefs Getting Blown Out by the Broncos

The third quarter is winding down and the Chiefs are down by 21 to the Broncos. You know how bad it is for the Chief? CBS put up a graphic mocking the twelve days of Christmas song except it said something like "7 dropped passes, one failed punt...."

One of the CBS announcers actually said, "That field goal by the Broncos keeps the Chiefs within three scores." Three scores? Thanks.

This is really just a pathetic display, at home no less, against a division rival. The fans are booing and frankly there aren't very many of them there anymore.

There are some bright spots we'll talk about but right now, with minutes to go in the third quarter, there isn't much to cheer about.

Predictions for 2009:

The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

can i parlay that with the

Fire Haley and Cassel sucks posts?

in that case, it’ll be near 50

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers

Hali, Thank you very very much for doing what DT did best! Thank you for playing your heart out like DT would have today. DT just quit rolling in his grave because he sees someone who has some potential. All joking aside, this is a sad, sad day for me. Derrick Thomas was the reason i became a Chiefs fan, and his death is still an udder tradgedy in my book. I Am thankful that i got to see him play many years of professional football for our beloved chiefs.!

I also what to say, that although i have booed the chiefs all year, its booing out of frustration because in my heart im still cheering them.

I think we might

I think Pioli and Haley were concerned about Cassel getting the Thigpen disease where he focused on throwing to Tony first, last and always – even if he had other guys open.

which makes me upset with Tony G...

you can’t force yourself onto a “playoff team.” After all I do remember him dropping a pass in the endzone. So he isn’t entirely to blame for not having gone deeper in the playoffs.

Way to run up the score Denver... that's classy.

on 4th down you kick the field goal when you’re up by 3 touchdowns.

by Vince D on Dec 6, 2009 2:42 PM CST reply actions

No you don't

You run up the middle which they did. We couldn’t stop them

by craig in calgary on Dec 6, 2009 2:43 PM CST up reply actions

It would be running up the score if they were throwing bombs

We still have to stop the run. If we don’t it’s not their fault.

By the way, KC did do that to Denver once

I think it was Elway’s rookie year. We were kicking their butt, I think Elway got benched during the game. I also think it was the last game of the year. There was one player on the team who was an eligible receive who hadn’t caught a pass that season, so Mackovic decided to get him a reception. But he got covered and the QB (can’t remember if it was Kenney or we’d brought Blackledge in). Anyway the player (a backup TE) was covered, so the QB launched it downfield for a TD with time running out. Reeves was so pissed! He refused to shake Mackovic’s hand.

Oh Please

RUnning the ball on 4th down instead of kicking the field goal give the D a chance to stop you SCORELESS.
It isn’t runnung up the score.
Aside from that, whens there are 12 1/2 minutes left in the game you dont just lay down and stop playing football just because you have a lead.

“Running up the Score” should not even be uttered in a game that isn’t in the last 5 minutes, and even then I would poo-poo on it. The offenses job is to score. The defenses job is to stop them.
You don’t put your offense on the field to try and keep it close for the other team so they don’t feel bad. You jam it down their fucking throat to run out the clock and let them try and stop you.

We suck and our team is 3 years away from relevence. Within that time, Haley will have been fired which means we will start our rebuild all over.

We`re in rebuilding mode….pffftt……after yet another pathetic showing I`m begining to think we should hit .500 by 2015 and if we are lucky enough to attract some DECENT players the playoffs by 2028
Anyone know Ryan Leafs cell number in the hope we can talk him out of retirement?…Could have tried Len Dawson but I doubt he would want to play with these chumps!!!!!
Thanks Chiefs for another heartless performance….seem to say this every season…maybe one day!!
