Chiefs Down by Eight at Half to the Broncos
It's 14 to 6 in favor of the Denver Broncos.
A Tamba Hali strip and the subsquent recovery by Glenn Dorsey gave the ball the Chiefs at mid field, which led to their second field goal of the half.
It's been a rough day for the Chiefs. They're getting stomped on defense and the offense stalled on the 1-yard line and had to settle for three points.
The stats for the first half are after the jump.

We get the ball first
and it’s a one possession game. Relax and figure it out.
In wondrous beauty, once again, shall the golden tables stand mid the grass, which the gods had owned in the days of old.

Let's see how Clancy makes adjustments to the D
I remember how nice it was when Marty came on board (don’t recall who his first DC was – Cowher?) and suddenly things that burned the D in the first half were shut down in the second. Let’s see if Clancy can do that.

Brees just threw an INT
At the end of the half, and a saints WR chases the DB down, takes it away, and takes it in for a score.

because they are getting 7.5 yards per play
or something ridiculous like that. and they’ve broken a couple of long runs off on the defense
so they get back to where they were

Do the math. It was 2.9 in KC
Predictions for 2009:
The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ
Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.
The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays
Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for
Chiefs 3-13
That's because the NFL gave him some yardage credit for one play
but they didn’t do it until after he was cut.

Part of Cassel's development is learning to play through these problems
I’m only for pulling him if it would help him more to sit and watch. That’s sometimes the case.

Difference being
They have a top 10 defence. They can focus on fixing the offense…we need fixing on both sides of the ball

isn't apathy a result of being crushed?
This team has really played uninspired since the Pittsburgh game. Im really disappointed in the receivers play, and because of that its making Cassel look worse than he is.
Its killing me the way most people can’t see the forest from the trees. And how the obvious is attacked with out understanding of the cause.

…thrown to them they drop
And the balls that are thrown 3-7 yards away from them…
…they had no chance to catch in the first place.

For justice we must go to Don Pioli
On Behalf of All Chiefs Fans:
Dear DT,
I want to offer Derrick Thomas our humblest apologies. The team on the field today does not deserve to wear the same uniform that you wore, that struck fear in the hearts of every QB who ever played against you. DT, you were and still are, the embodiment of what the Chiefs should be. We are sorry that the team that took the field on the day we honor you is not worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as you. DT, we miss you, now more than ever. Thank you for giving us great memories, because memories of you are all we have right now.
Sincerely,
Kansas City Chiefs Fans.
