Chiefs CB Flowers Returns to Practice, G Alleman Doesn't
Just because it's New Year's Eve doesn't mean practice stops for the Kansas City Chiefs. Today they got back to it preparing for Sunday's showdown with the Denver Broncos.
CB Brandon Flowers returned to practice this afternoon after sitting out portions of work yesterday. Flowers wasn't wearing a helmet and sat off to the side during the media's portion of practice yesterday.
He was listed on the practice report as limited with a shoulder injury. He was also limited at times last week with a shoulder injury so I suspect he'll be fine for Sunday.
G Andy Alleman was not on the field this afternoon according to Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com. Alleman has been dealing with a sore back. With just one game left in the season, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Alleman gets sent to IR and the Chiefs see some of their younger linemen in action.
G Daryl Harris is one recently promoted player that Looney mentions.

Yep, looks like Alleman to IR
Will we finally get to see some Ndukwe? We know what we have in Wade Smith, let Ndukwe play and at least get some in-game film on him so we can better evaluate our OL during the offseason.
Also good to hear about Flowers
I am concerned about re-injury thought going against a big guy like Brandon Marshall.
will be interesting to see if we match him up with marshall
seems like carr gets him a lot.
Yeah, without Flowers, our hopes in week 18 are SHOT!
Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.
agreed about Ndukwe
I have been wanting to see that ALL SEASON…
he could very well be the starter next year, so he needs to get in the game
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
yep... and seeing what KC has at those positions can only help the offseason
Knowing that they have starters in place for 2010 at RG, RT, and LG, LT allows for a lot of flexibility in the draft and FA.
Knowing that Center is the only “critical” need on the OL, allows KC to draft the best Center on the board and look for developmental guys or upgrades at those other positions if they come along… but not reach or overpay for those guys.

With or without O'Callaghan, I'm lookin' for some new blood at RT.
Also want to see the Albert-Dumerville matchup, again. Seemed like things were pretty quiet on that front last outing.

Marshall is hurt. He will be a shell of his normal self.
I predict he won’t even make it through the entire game. Hammy injuries are no joke.
