Needed: Gameday Guide
I finally purchased tickets to my first Chiefs game ever. Bills at Chiefs: Section 330, row 14.
My problem is, though, that I don't know the optimal way to experience Arrowhead and the game.
I noticed that a guide was starting last season in this thread, but I don't see anywhere that it was finished.
If I could possibly get suggestions to maximize my experience at the game, I would appreciate it. Also, once the guide is completed, it could help fans for the future.
- How early should I go for tailgating?
- What section should I go for tailgating?
- Is it kosher to walk around and bug random tailgaters, or should I stick with my own friends and leave others be?
- Should I get barbecue immediately after the game or will it be totally nuts around town and not worth going out? (I understand about the barbecue war, but I'm being "forced" to go to Gates, so no swaying me otherwise there.)
- Godforbid, but if the game causes fans to leave early, is moving down to lower sections an option or will I get beat up by large security guards for moving?
- What sections in Arrowhead stadium should I not miss? (i.e. Ring of Honor, awesome statues, mini-museum, etc)
I'm probably missing lots of questions, so if you have any more must-do things, post them below!
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I'll be there too!
I dont know much but I do know Ive moved down last year with ease at the Chargers. If its the same as last year if the seats are available you can just go on down…

For real. Be at your seat for the National Anthem. Awesome experience especially with a flyover.

Tailgating
I’d be ready to tailgate at least two hours before the game, which means you should be getting there three hours ahead of time.
Any section for tailgating.
Totally cool to go tailgate with other parties. Pick the one with the best food!
There are a few different BBQ places, like Gates, that shouldn’t be crowded. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Don’t think you can move down sections. It’s worth a shot, though.
Walk around the concourse in the stadium beforehand and take everything in….

How early should I go for tailgating? Leave no less than 3 hours prior for the tailgate. It can get backed up 60-90 minutes before the game with the late rush
What section should I go for tailgating? Lot C but you’ll need a red pass to park there
Is it kosher to walk around and bug random tailgaters, or should I stick with my own friends and leave others be? Fuck and yes! You should be able to easily distinguish friendly people from uptight yuppies
Should I get barbecue immediately after the game or will it be totally nuts around town and not worth going out? (I understand about the barbecue war, but I’m being “forced” to go to Gates, so no swaying me otherwise there.) When at Gates get ribs, when at AB’s get beef and pork. I doubt it will be too busy after the game.
Godforbid, but if the game causes fans to leave early, is moving down to lower sections an option or will I get beat up by large security guards for moving? Moving to better seats is always permitted, just don’t be a dick if someone rightfully claims the seat. You won’t be able to get into the club level. I prefer the view from the upper deck, the elevation helps you see the plays develop. I’d just try to move down clsoer from row 14 to rows 3-6.

I wish, Top Boom and Boyd City lay it down...
An old friend of mine started that label, I’m just a fan of good local music.

You might be right about the upper deck seats
But if you don’t go to many games, then strolling down to the lower level and checking out a closer look is a must, I think.

For sure...
If it was my first time I’d want to circle the stadium inside and out before settling into my seat.

•How early should I go for tailgating?
No later than 9:30 for a 12:00 game.
•What section should I go for tailgating?
Just go where the guys in teh vests point you. There is no wrong answer. Unlike most stadiums, thetailgating is everywhere.
•Is it kosher to walk around and bug random tailgaters, or should I stick with my own friends and leave others be?
It’s not only kosher, it’s advised. Here’s a tip: Bring Beer. I’m not saying you should pick out the drunkest group of hooligans you can find, but “hey I have a cooler of beer. mind if I share?” Is a one-way ticket to “Come tailgate with us” land.
•Should I get barbecue immediately after the game or will it be totally nuts around town and not worth going out? (I understand about the barbecue war, but I’m being “forced” to go to Gates, so no swaying me otherwise there.)
There is no bad time to go to Gates. If you have to stand in line a bit, so be it.
•Godforbid, but if the game causes fans to leave early, is moving down to lower sections an option or will I get beat up by large security guards for moving?
Just don’t make a scene. The goon squad only grabs squatters if they are bothering teh people around them.
•What sections in Arrowhead stadium should I not miss? (i.e. Ring of Honor, awesome statues, mini-museum, etc)
If your feet can tolerate the walking, take a trip around the outside of the stadium before the game and do a lap around then inside (Lower level) after. If you can only pick one due to time or flat feet, prioritize the lower level.
Hope this helps and have a blast!

Forgive me, since I'm pretty new here...
but has there ever been an AP tailgate party? If not, why not?

No because you can not tailgate on a website. Surely you must know this.

RDO:
I’ve looked into organizing meet ups before but haven’t put enough time into finding the proper site to do it.
It would be really easy to do and organize. One FanPost a week would do it.

I know what I'm doing..
I’m coming here to let everyone know I’ll be there and when. After that, we’ll just meet up wherever and party together. You got lots of family in here on AP. I’ve had lots of offers to meet up with the AP crew once there, you will too.
TT is going to be there. Meet up with him and right there is your tour guide. Have fun. I may or may not be there for the Browns.

I can already see how this is gonna end for me.
I’m gonna tell everyone when I’m gonna be there and where and everyone will move to the other side of the stadium. I’ll be standing there after walking for 3 hours scratching my sweaty ass head and mumbling something like “Huh….they must have misunderstood me. Yah that’s it. And all of their cell phones don’t work right now. It’s cool. It happens. Whaddaya mean there’s no game today!! GOD DAMMIT GUYS!!”
