We Can Bring Kansas City Back To Its Glory Days (Mock Draft)
If you look at the Personal and Coaching staff there are problems like Offensive coordinator and defensive Coordinator, Defensive backs coach and Quarterbacks coach. These are the easy things to fix because there is so many good play callers out there like Charlie Weis, Mike Martz ect... And because personally I believe Clancy is calling horrible plays, and there are d coaches like Romeo, Brian Stewert,Erick Mangini(if fired) ect.. Who would be good replacements for Clancy. But the other open spots like DB coach and Quarterbacks coach is harder to fill so maybe someone like Trent Green I don't know its up to Scott. The next thing is the 53 man roster, are biggest holes like Safety,NT,CB,OG,C can all be addressed this offseason. So my plans would be to first sign a center or a guard so you don't have to draft one. Guys like Justin Hartwig who I believe is from Kansas, and saw us win against his Steelers so he would defiantly consider coming here. So if he does then you have a center locked in for years to come, then you still have an opening at right guard, so there are also some guys like Jason Spitz,Logan Mankins,Manuel Ramirez the only one we have a chance at signing is Mankins because the pats have so many free agents like Wilfork,Kaczur,Mankins, Stephan Neal. All these high priced guys cant all be signed so either Mankins of Neal would we an excellent pickup. So there are still two big holes left so I say we go with nose tackle because this class is loaded in the secondary. And I have heard rumors quisling around that the Steelers are not resigning Casey Hampton and if we could sign him to a one year deal. Or another possible nose tackle is Aubrayo Franklin who plays nose tackle for San Francisco. So now that were done with free agency next is the NFL Draft, where I am thinking we hit the defense hard this year, because the old saying defense wins championships. So heres my mock.
Round 1 Taylor Mays S USC, this gives us the athleticism we need at safety, with Page and Taylor lined up together it gives us speed and versatility in our secondary. Stats, 79 tackles 1 interception.
Round 2 Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma, this opens up our offense and gives us a threat over the middle and did I mention he can block to. Stats, Injured reserve
Round 2 Toby Gerhart RB Stanford with a solid offensive line this kid will flourish, fits perfect into Todd Haley's system of single back formations and would give us the bruiser we lost in Larry Johnson.
Stats, 311 attempts with 1736 yards rushing, averaging 5.6 yards with 26 touchdowns.
Round 3 Trevard Lindley CB Kentucky, this gives us a shutdown corner opposite Brandon Flowers. Imagine a secondary that dosent give up 400 yards a game wow. Stats, 29 tackles with 1 interception.
Round 4 Micah Johnson LB Kentucky gives a 3rd down linebacker who loves to stuff the run. Stats, 100 tackles and 1 sack.
Round 5 Danny Batten LB/DE SD State, gives us a pass rush, and is co defensive player of the year in the Missouri Valley Divison. Stats, 9 sacks and 82 tackles and hes a defensive end.
Round 5 Myron Rolle Safety Florida State, gives us a special teams beast, and could one day start. Stats, 62 tackles
Round 5 Brandon Banks WR/KR takes over duty of kick returns where he set a k-state record with 5 kick return touchdowns. Sounds like a Dante Hall clone. Stats, 56 receptions for 705 yards with 1 touchdown. And was nominated for special teams player of the year with 5 kick return touchdowns.
Stats by ESPN.

And the Kool-Aid lives on
Hate Larry Johnson.
I'll give you this
Trent Green would be a fantastic QB coach. I just don’t think it’s his career path. He has the pretty face and golden tongue for work in the media. I expect we’ll be seeing him in broadcast booths and pregame shows for years to come.
This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

If we were to get the 3 free agents then this would work.
I’m still not a Mays fan. I’d rather have Allen in the 2nd instead of Mays in the 1st. That of course is saying that Berry is not available. I would love Gerhart, but if he has a good combine he could be a 1st round pick I think.
Javid Best is a beast too.
Hate Larry Johnson.
Heck maybe Darren Sproles could come to KC
he was born in olathe.
Hate Larry Johnson.
Problem with Sproles is...
He is the same style of back that we already have in Jamal Charles. I would think we would look for a big, bruiser type as a compliment to JCs running style.
Exactly
I would have loved for Sproles to hit the market last year. But now that we see how JC is developing it makes more sense to sompliment him than replace him.

two Speed backs would be excellent
because one gets rested and they both get allot of playing time.
Hate Larry Johnson.

It gives me wierd stares

man i would love to have gerheart. as for Myron Rolle I had a class with him freshman year, he was built like a nfl player at 18. mark my words he will be a top tier safety in the nfl. He will tear it up at the senior boul and combine and will be a late second early third round pick. but if hes there in round five and we don’t pick him up, then Pioli is high out of his mind
he'd be a good choice for KC in the 3rd
IF they get a Center in the 2nd or 4th that can START
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
Well I was informed weeks ago
Hartwig has been given a contract extension. I don’t want NE’s RG, he has problems this year. If Lupati is available in round 1 when they pick, he’s a Pat because of that. I don’t see Mankins coming to KC with Waters and Albert here, we’ll go LT next year and move Albert to LG, when the O-line talent is deeper in the draft or take a LG if Albert looks better next season.
I’m comfortable with NDukwe, B. Rich or Colin Brown playing RG next year. We need a C in round 2 or 3 this year, I’d like Fox RT to be taken, so NDukwe can move over to RG.
Ben Watson and Wilfork are the Pats with the most potential to come to KC.
Hampton, and Pickett are vet NT options that could come to come to KC next year.
I like Dansby at LB, but if we can’t resign Chambers, Mark Clayton from Baltimore might be a nice deep threat.
I like some of your Mock, but I don’t think some of those players will be available where you have them slotted to go.
fyi
it’s iupati (I made the same mistake)
But, I do like Fox or Selvish Capers as 2nd round OTs that have a chance to start.
a Center is job #1, though!
And, I agree that the Chiefs have some good options at RG next season already on the roster… IF they get a starting Center!

I'd love to see
O’Dowd or Wisniewski in a KC uniform starting at C, and Fox backing up O’Callaghan until he has down the zone blocking scheme, then taking the starting Gig from him. Golden Tate at WR, that in itself would probably improve our defense.

Draft BPA
There is not a single position on this team that couldn’t be upgraded at this point. We need talent all over this team, other than kicker. So especially in the 1st round we need to take the best player and not reach again this year.
