Vikings 38 - 3

I’m down 38 fantasy points in my championship with Favre and Shianco yet to play.
Its doubtful, but possible

I'm actually down 35

But we have Home Field Advantage in the playoffs where higher seeded teams get 3 arbitrary points.
Thats a gay way to lose a game

Lemme get this straight

I know Zorn called that rediculous fake last week, but he did it AFTER Coughlin called a timeout and he CALLED IT AGAIN?!?!?

Wow. Zorn should have been fired ingame.

Johnnie Morton: The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

by craig in calgary on Dec 28, 2009 7:16 PM CST reply actions

From what I gather Zorn doesn't call the plays...

But the HC has to step in there. Terrible, terrible play.

Probly

why you never see something stupid like that called in the nfl, cuz it doesnt work

by badassz1987 on Dec 28, 2009 7:20 PM CST up reply actions

He doesn't have the authority to step in

They stripped him of that. Zorn is a bad HC, but you can’t put any of the blame on him from the point where Snyder stripped him of his power around mid-season.

Zorn was hired as offensive coordinator

before a head coach was hired… And then when nobody wanted to be the Head Coach in Washington Zorn was given the job… Just a really weird deal all the way around.

He doesn't call specific plays

But I have to believe he’s the one calling fake fieldgoals or other gadget plays.
Why is the HC even at the games if he has nothing to do with the playcalling

Johnnie Morton: The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

by craig in calgary on Dec 28, 2009 7:20 PM CST up reply actions

Because Snyder was a dick and didn't just fire him

Zorn was stripped of his power. Just another reason that whole organization is a joke.

The organization is a joke

But say what you want about Snyder….he seems to try. Granted he’s a complete moron, but I believe he wants to win, and will do anything in his power to do so.

There are worse owners in the NFL.

Never said he doesn't want to win

He just really has no clue how to do it. Didn’t say he was the worst in teh league either. But I wouldn’t want him owning my team…

by KCSatchmo on Dec 28, 2009 7:25 PM CST up reply actions

The owner should have NOTHING to do with wins and losses

Guys like Jones, Davis and Snider that are too hands on negatively impact their teams. Hire a good GM, a good VP of Football operations and sit in your press box and count your money.

Johnnie Morton: The Man. The Myth. The Legend.

by craig in calgary on Dec 28, 2009 7:27 PM CST up reply actions

Agreed

However the worst owner imo is William Clay Ford. How do you hand the keys to your franchise over to Matt Millen for 7 freaking years? That’s just too hands off. Gotta have balance.

Im not sure Jerry Jones is negatively impacting his team...

Since he’s been there the Cowboys have been as sucessful as any franchise in the NFL. Sure they have had their dissapointments, but over the last 20 years who hasn’t?

Blasted by who?

Th DB was diving to the groun or the INT. How are we supposed to believe he couldn’t get a hand on it when he didn’t try? The pass was unacceptable as was the lack of effort to catch it.

by KCSatchmo on Dec 28, 2009 8:46 PM CST up reply actions

Are you basing "He Jumped"

on DJ’s screen shot? Just watch the play at full speed. If that’s a jump, then I guess we know why he doesn’t play basketball. Then he compounds the lack of effort to get a hand on it by making no effort to down the DB after the pick.

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

by KCSatchmo on Dec 28, 2009 8:56 PM CST up reply actions

he half assed jumped

but he still made an effort as i watched it in regular time. As I have said before the camera angle makes it look closer than it was, and he obvioulsy felt it was out of reach. I’m sure he knows how to judge balls a lot better than all of us. By where the ball was caught, it was not only high, but also behind him

How the hell do you know

camera angle made it look closer than it was. You can’t tell where the ball is from that blurry shit. You can tell that it landed 2 yeards in front of him based on where Bowe and the defender were when the INT was made. It’s clearly not out of the realm of possibility that he gets a hand on it which makes a “half assed” effort unacceptable.

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

Very true

But I don’t know if I can stand too many more games with Gruden talking about Favre. That gets painful. Especially since he can make some insightful comments, like when he said on the last rushing TD by the Vikes that he’d give the ball to AP on a quick count and was exactly right.

I don't care about his whining, though it gets on my nerves

It’s his decision making. He’s as close to Jeff George as I’ve seen. Mentally not very good, which is WAY more important than arm strength (see Montana, Joe). I’m going to watch the highlights and see if he looked off the FS on that last play. I’ll give him some credit if he did.

I think the arm may cause the brain damage, though.

It’s so common to see the strong armed guys making those mistakes. The only exception that comes to mind is Elway.

but in all fairness...

this is a team game. Yes he makes bonehead decisions sometimes, but if he gets time, and his receivers get open, he is 10 times better. Same goes for any QB in the league.

by KCinAZ on Dec 28, 2009 11:17 PM CST up reply actions

I see a lot of Farve in him...

Relies on his arm strength too much and it gets him in trouble sometimes….but when he gets it rolling….it looks reeeeal good

by KCinAZ on Dec 28, 2009 11:18 PM CST up reply actions

But I remember in his first few seasons when commentators

were questioning whether Favre was a ever going to be a “good” QB because of his mistakes. Watching both of them, I think the difference is that Cutler tends to make his mistakes in more critical situations. I think the difference in their attitudes are why Favre was able to overcome that tendency and become a SB winner and multiple MVP winner. I think Cutler’s attitude is going to keep him from ever doing that. You don’t have to watch them very long to see the MAJOR difference in their attitudes and how they respond to problems. That’s why I don’t think Cutler is truly a “franchise” QB.

Very good point

DId you see Cutler on the bench after his int? He was laughing his ass off. Usually he’s just pouting
After Favre throws int’s he is studying drive charts with Daryl Bevil

cutler came into the league

with a whole lot more fanfair than Favre….he has a big head from always being “the man”…he may get his shit together with a little maturity as he ages…..ehh who knows. Like I said, I dont like the guy other than his skill set. I cant stand that he always tries to blame the reciever after a poor play….
All I was saying is its a TEAM game….when others play well and do their jobs right, like tonite, he is a whole lot better.
