Chiefs New Safeties Part of the Depth Chart Update
Yes the depth chart hasn't changed really at all in the past couple weeks but we've noted all the depth chart changes since preseason so we figured we might as well keep doing.
With DaJuan Morgan on injured reserve, we've got two new safeties on the roster - Ricky Price (practice squad) and Reshard Langford (Eagles practice squad).
Price went through training camp with the Chiefs. He will backup Jon McGraw at free safety. Langford was signed over the weekend but inactive. He will backup Mike Brown at strong safety.
With Brad Cottam's injury at tight end, Jake O'Connell slides into the No. 2 ahead of Sean Ryan. Man, Ryan was someone we were hoping to be excited about early in the season but he's dropped big time frequently falling on the inactive list.
Derek Lokey was also signed last week and he falls in line behind Ron Edwards and Dion Gales at nose tackle.
Quinten Lawrence is also the No. 1 kick returner ahead of Jamaal Charles the past few weeks.

He was supposed to be a good blocking TE
Not sure where that came from, but it was false.

Cassel was suppose to be a franchise QB
Not sure where that came from….

Ryan
had a couple of games where he showed some promise… believe it or not
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers

Still don't see how Dion Gales is a NT
As bad as O’Connell has been he really bounced back this weak and showed me a lot. I would still take him over Sean Ryan.

No you had it right the first time
When you’re talking about O’connell at least.
Seriously 1 catch 4 yards…and a partial block, (thanks to my boy Studebaker)
Career day.

he's big and athletic
I hope he develops, would be nice to see more of what we got last weekend.
On that short pass, he seemed to be fighting for yards as if his life depended on it. I like that.

I am NOT impressed with O'Connel
He has had several opportunities and he always drops the ball. I’ll be ready to see Cottam again next year.
