2010 Fantasy Drafts

I was wondering if anyone has found any links for 2010 mock fantasy football drafts.

First, I want to interate that this is FANTASY football, not the NFL draft that happens in the spring. There are plenty of those articles going around.

Second, if you're opinion is "this is too early" or "so many things can change," then I respect and understand your opinion, but that doesn't really help me. So please don't post those here (all though I'm sure somebody funny will still do so).

Basically, I am trying to gauge how valuable my current players are for keeper leagues next year, and get a general sense for how people are valuing different players. For example I want to know how valuable Cedric Benson, Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, and other players will be come next summer.

I have been searching around the internet, but I can't find very many links for this. Here are the drafts I have found so far:

http://www.fantasyfootballxtreme.com/2009/12/09/2010-fantasy-football-mock-draft/

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6542467/19151832 (Top 10 WRs for 2010)

http://fantasynews.cbssports.com/fantasyfootball/story/12678815/johnsons-speedy-ascent-to-fantasy-stardom (top 12 overall for 2010)

And they are going to do one here in January:

If anyone else has some links or comments, please post them below. Try to keep them to drafts or articles that have occurred in December or November, otherwise it won't include Charles or other players who have done well done the stretch.

Again, if you aren't interested in fantasy drafts look elsewhere.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Heres a quote for you...

Fantasy football is like Dungeons and Dragons for guys who used to beat up guys for playing Dungeons and Dragons.

wtf... lol.

My sentiments are likely to be summed up with one of these 2 quotes:

"Shut the f--- up."- Matt Cassel
"WHAT THE F---?!?!"- Todd Haley

Really?

I used to play D&D and now play fantasy football. I don’t think I’ve beat myself up recently.

And I think that a majority of people these days play fantasy football. Even several females.

And once again, I asked if you are not interested in fantasy drafts look elsewhere. Thanks!

Ummmm....

Don’t you think you should wait until the real draft and free agency are finished? I’m just saying…. suppose Larry Fitzgerald get’s traded to the Raiders. Do you think he’d be a top 5 WR next year?

What I do this time of year

instead of looking for mock drafts for next year, I crunch data from this year. It helps me determine trends around the NFL and their impact within my league’s scoring system. I’ll take the average number of points scored for starting players at each position. For example in a 10 team league that starts 3 WRs, I’ll average points scored by the top 30 receivers. Then, using that average as the zero line, you can assign a +/- for every player in the league.

This allows you to compare players regardless of position. If the very top QBs have say…right around +50 while the very top RBs are only around +25 then QBs have a higher relative value in your league’s scoring system. You can also use the data to determine the depth of a position. Finally, you can trend this over the course of years to determine which players are ascending, declining or had performances that are not in line with what is typical for their career.

Using this sort of data gets me into SuperBowls every year.

Hope this helps…

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

I posted below instead of replying

I like to look at mock drafts to judge where players are going to be taken. That gives me a basic judge on what other people think players are worth. From there I can choose which players I think are more valuable or less valuable for their relative worth in the draft.

Thanks for the advice, thats kinda what I usually do as well.

Thanks for the advice

But do you take into account weeks where players sat out for an injury?

by Boots 58 on Dec 28, 2009 12:10 PM CST reply actions

I do not

I consider injuries as a negative indicator for the player. IF he has no history of recurring injuries, I take that into account when looking at their trend data. You could easily consider injuries if that is your preference. Just calculate a weekly average rather than yearly.

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.
