Dez Bryant...first round pick

We gotta find someone that catches the ball, poses another threat, and give cassel another weapon.
We cant go D-Line with our 3rd pick 3 yrs in a row, andthe secondary has been playing well as of late, and I dont want a Rookie O-Lineman, id rather has a proven vet.

by KCinAZ on Dec 27, 2009 3:27 PM CST reply actions

Tough call.

Don’t want WR that high right now, but I think you can see from today’s game that Chambers is good, but not dominant. Hard to make the call on D-Bowe, since, like OchoCinco, the best WR on the field is receiving by far the most attention. Dominant WRs are hard to come by in FA. Maybe Boldin will shake loose. If so, KC ought to be pretty good, especially if they emphasize speed outta the slot.

If Berry’s on the board, I say we take him. If he’s not, I can rationalize numerous directions, including WR, if Dez Bryant is a 85-90% probability of being dominant.

Basically I’m just looking for a dominant player with that 1st pick, with emphasis on DB, WR, DL (NT), OL (C/LT). I think OL’s out of my picture frame with that 1st-er, based on talent available at LT and ability to nab a great C in 2nd or 3rd with very high confidence. People hate going to the well for D-Line, again, but I don’t think this outfit counts Dorsey as a 1st-rounder THEY spent, so much, even though it shows up that way in accounts payable. If building this team to be dominant is what they want, they want the best long-term solution at NT that they can possibly secure, so Cody makes sense.

Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.

Best scenario is to trade out...

The only way that happens now is if a QB has an incredible offseason and turns enough heads in Washington and Seattle.

I mean if we’re gonna pick third we might as well pick second right?

So what about draft order implications?

First thing I thought about when I finished with the Chiefs game and noticed Tampa Bay was sittin’ on New Orleans’ 35 in OT.

We've had the hardest schedule of the bottom teams.

Unfortunately as far as wins and losses go our strength of schedule doesn’t agree.

Just

got a chance to sit down and watch the Chiefs game and not real happy with bowe or chambers, neither one really even tried to help Cassel out on those two int throws. Thats why Im hoping we can get a true #1 receiver this offseason

by badassz1987 on Dec 27, 2009 5:24 PM CST reply actions

Haley still has work to do.

I agree with you badassz. Chambers and Bowe need to understand that a little extra-effort in those situations can make a big difference to your quarterback. I’m not sure Bowe stops the interception, but he could have kept him from getting yards and making someone else tackle the man. Chambers just didn’t want the ball as bad as the DB. (Yes Bones, I know it could have been a better thrown ball)

Did you see the holding call early today that kept Charles from getting a bunch of yards. Very few teams are called for holding on that play in the NFL. Chiefs called because they aren’t very good.

Not to mention.

Id rather be the team that everyone expected to be bad pretty much all year then the team who collapsed last year, revamped and had the same collapse this year with new coaches and players. I remember when William “I just ate three more boxes of donuts” Williamson over at ESPN had McDaniels pegged as the coach of the year and now he just looks like a silly boy who jumped up and down half the season in his wannabe Bill Belichick hoodie.

Looked like a blowout.

Then it looked like a comeback. Tough loss, j-man.

OK so we can assume Washington is going to lose so here are some notes...

1. Tony Gonzalez not only got injured today but once again missed the playoffs.
2. The Chiefs can pick 6th overall with a win and a Jacksonville, Atlanta and SanDiego win.
3. Tony Romo started holding for field goals and PATs last week just on time to lose another playoff game for the ’Boys.
4. Old women have no business being on football broadcasts because they spur impure and immoral and ridiculous thoughts and conversations. Bring back Melissa.

After listening to what Washington has done in looking for their next HC and GM, how can the Rooney Rule still be in place? What a joke.

If someone asks you if you want extra mayonnaise you have to say yes, cus that's part of it.

That may come into play for us when draft time comes around.

Shannahan + Snyder would be such a gong show.
