Chiefs Down by Seven as Fourth Quarter Begins

A short third quarter update for you this afternoon. Here are some notes:

Positives

  • #85 TE Jake O'Connell made the play of his short career when he blocked a punt late in the third quarter.
  • Jamaal Charles continues to run well against the Cincy defense.

Negatives

  • The Bengals got the ball at half and orchestrated a grinding, consistent drive for a TD. The drive took up nearly six minutes of the third quarter.

By being a bigger-bodied receiver like Bowe

Chambers has some good speed but he’s not gonna be the kind of WR you can expect to go up and bring down a high ball. That ball was catchable, he just didn’t have the strength to take it out of Hall’s hands.

Nice try to blame that on the WR

Predictions for 2009:

The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

It was a nice play by the CB - hard to fault Chambers too much

But I would’ve like to see him do it.

Atleast we gave it our all. Chiefs stepped it up and showed Bengals we aren’t pushovers. I think next year we can win 6-8 games then we will be back in playoff conetention.

and 2.7 showed why he’s a washed up loser. It’s too bad he didn’t get the unsportsmanlike flag on that play. He deserved it.

Differing opinions are expected an make for a good discussion.
Constantly repeating your dislike of Cassel does nothing but grate on nerves. We understand you don’t think Cassel is a good QB, but it seems like having Cassel play poorly pleases you because is justifies an opinion you had before the season

In case you didn't catch that bones:

It’s like you enjoy losing as long as you can find some way to blame it on Cassel which is immature. Hence the “grow up” comment.

Just looked too happy after a loss. Chatting up his buddy and played terrible in the loss. Shouldn’t be happy

He wasn't supposed to return it

he was supposed to just fair catch it, which he would have done had they not intentionally shanked the punt so he wouldn’t be able to field it before the clock ran out.

Not surprising but I guess crap teams dont even get "help" or even fair calls from officials

Hali getting held all game and most notably on 3rd and 6 from our 20 on the Bengals winning TD drive where he was by the left tackle who had him around the neck and then the fair catch at the end of the game shouldve been stopped with 1 second left. Great effort though cant complain with that today.

Thats why the Bengals are good now and we are not yet....

Let them have their time….they have been the laughing stock of the NFL forever…..

We will get back…..now is the time to look at the positives…wins and losses mean nothing at this point…two games left….just get some positives out of this.
