Chiefs Send Morgan, Rogers to IR; Promote Lokey, Price
The Kansas City Chiefs safety position just went from bad to worse. With just two games remaining in the season, the Chiefs sent DaJuan Morgan to injured reserve. Morgan saw quite a bit of action last weekend with Jon McGraw nursing a hand injury. He spent the week on the injury report with a chest problem.
To help with the void at safety, Ricky Price was promoted from the practice squad. Price, 6'1", 195 pounds, is a rookie out of Oklahoma State. He spent training camp with the Chiefs and later re-signed.
The Chiefs also placed Justin Rogers on IR. A linebacker that was signed and released several times this season, Rogers has been on and off the injury report during the season.
With the open roster spot, the Chiefs promoted NT Derek Lokey. He was thought to be a candidate to be moved to the active roster when the Chiefs released Kenny Smith leaving just one nose tackle on the roster. Lokey also spent training camp with the Chiefs.
Quick recap....
To IR: Morgan and Rogers
To active roster: Lokey and Price
The Chiefs now have two open spots on the practice squad.

I was just wondering the same thing
12 players with season ending injuries? A little peculiar.
Keeping their rights while checking out other people...?
Has this whole season been one long tryout!?!?! lol

well
morgan wasnt exactly showing us a whole lot except an ability to get beat and miss tackles…other than that st louis game….he really didnt flash any major wow ability.
Im glad we can see 2 new guys in there, price this weekend, then the ex eagle next week…brown and mcgraw should not be starting for us next season….I would hope both are gone, if mcgraw is still around as a ST I would understand however.
Pretty small for the nose. We'll see, though.
Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.
Welcome to Arrowhead Stadium...Home of the worst ran organization in the NFL!!!

Right
because you know, teams like the Raiders are shining examples of how to run an organization.
I understand people wanting to be mad, but I think they’re getting mad at the wrong people. Sure there wasn’t much of any improvement this year, but I still feel the Chiefs are headed in the right direction. It isn’t the current management who got us here, but they are trying to fix the mistakes of the previous management. People want results now, but if they want things done right, it will take some time.
Agree
This actually is a smart move. If you have a couple of injured players that may not be productive for your last two games, get a look at your other players that may have potential. This well give them a good read on keeping or dropping them durning the off season.

GREAT!
Let’s get some sweet Donald Washington crapfest action going… he’s so terrible…..
Pollard?
As I’ve been sayin all year, gettin rid of Pollard was stupid as hell… Do I smell a ceritain safety out of Tennessee on his way?

Getting rid of Pollard was a smart move
He was all show and no substance. He made big plays, and got burned way more than he made big plays. He liked to hit hard, but while trying to hit hard his aim was off and he would let guys by him. Sure he looked great in the highlight reel, but that was all he was good for.
I remember Derrick Thomas once saying that if a coach told a player to hit a brick wall some players would run right through it. He would just run up and graze it, barely touch it. In other words, there’s no need to run through guys, TACKLE them or strip them, which is what Pollard wasn’t good at.
Good for the highlights, bad for the team.
Doesn’t miss THAT much.. Led our team on tackles.. What’s the tell ya when the safety is making all the tackles? That 7 guys up front aren’t. Shoulda put h at lb if there scared of h being the last line of defenSe and missing. Oh well, Texans seem to be saying defensive MVP for their squad.. What an awful player tho..
