A new Chiefs legacy beginning at my house

I just inherited a Madden NFL 2005 game for PS2.  I'm notoriously cheap and don't buy many games.  I saw that along with the games  I picked for my kids, I saw this little slice of KC nostalgia and decided what the heck...

Star-divide

I have never been much of a video game player.   I have an MVP MLB game that I have played a few times, but not much ( GO CUBBIES!!!) But always been more of an NFL fan.

I thought  iwould take the quiet time of children playing with new toys this Christmas day and pop that madden 2005 NFL game in.

Lo and behold... my boys were back in full color.  Dante Hall, Trent Green, Casey Weigmann, Tony G, Priest Holmes, Willie Roaf, Brian Waters and especially my favorite defensive player back then, Mike Maslowski (yes,  I know he was done in 2003, but they have him playing in the 2005 edition of the game.)  All of the crew in prime style.

After spending some time playing around and trying to figure out how to use some of the 999 controls,  I figured out enough to put a Christmas whoopin on the Raiders on my very own Christmas day throwdown.

Some highlights from the game were that TG made a touchdown reception in the 4th q off a 15 yard pass from Trent Green.

Dante Hall made a Touchdown after a 13 yard reception and running for 34 yards afterward, letting 4 defenders eat his dust.

Priest Holmes made a sweet little touchdown run through the C and RG, then straight up for 12 yards.

Priest got another touchdown run on 3rd and inches from the one yard line. Drove right up the middle right and dove into the end zone.

Unfortunately, Dante's longest return was only for 30 yards from the 4 to the 34.

The game ended 28-7 Chiefs ( the Faiders controlled by the computer)  and I begin my computer fantasy of running my own Chiefs dynasty at 1-0-0.

I have decided  I am going to try to get at least one game a month in and take on every team Madden NFL 2005 offers and throw a monumental whoopin on every one of them.

And Christmas is hereby reserved for an annual smackdown of the Raiders.

GO CHIEFS!!!!!

Heh.

No different than WWII games I’ve spent hours on in years past.

Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.

High five

I’m originally from England, and when my dad married my mom, she was a baseball only type of girl. Back when I was younger, I learned football through Madden. I don’t play many video games anymore, at least I don’t play a variety anymore. My only two games that I consistently play are NCAA Football and Madden. Usually those are the only two games a year my xbox gets to meet. Today my parents bought me the new CoD and Halo, but I can’t tell you how many hours my friends and I have crowded around the TV with some pizza getting down in Madden.

My wife got me Madden 2010 for my Wii

and I’m 4-0 in my first season with the Chiefs already, heh.

In wondrous beauty, once again, shall the golden tables stand mid the grass, which the gods had owned in the days of old.

28-7 ?

I’m not happy unless I am beating the Raiders atleast by 100pts!!
