Who is our nose tackle anyway? I'm confused.
Actually a great idea for a post is for someone to break down our players and their positions and how and what they do in the 3-4. What each guys' specific job is in the 3-4.

I am sorry but I have such a hard time truly understanding a 3-4 defense.
and how our guys fit in. I’m used to what they did in the 4-3 but now I’m confused. Everyone talking about how Dorsey is different in the new scheme and how we need a new NT. But what the hell is a nose tackle in this hybrid 3-4 and who is our current dude that’d doing that?
Ron Edwards is playing NT
Dorsey is a DE
jackson is a DE
Gillberry and Magee rotate in at DE
“hybrid” just means that they don’t ALWAYS line up with 3 linemen and 4 linebackers… sometimes they only have the 2 DEs in there, with no NT, somtimes they have 4 DL on the field, etc.
Basically, you never know EXACTLY where each guy is on every play.

I've seen
Dorsey or McGee as the only down linemen too.
That was one of the knocks on Pendergast style of D. Some say it is to complicated, because he likes to change his scheme on D every week, based on opposing O’s tendency’s and strengths as opposed to having a base D with some wrinkles to counter the other team. With a young inexperienced team like the Chiefs are, and in most cases their first exposure to a 34, it would imo, be wiser to ’k.i.s.s." it. Perfect the basics then worry bout all the fancy bells and whistles down the road.
Maybe it is a concentrated course
I am intrigued again with Clancy. based on your comment.
I understand K.I.S.S. but we want better than that. Now Tomahawk? or Stag? or someone said that the D is ignored and ignores Clancy I don’t like that.
But, Cassel did tell Haley to STFU too so.
A totally functioning dysfunctional family, works for me at ArKANSAS North :)
We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09. Almost there :)
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Skins & Raiders! Pittsburgh Sweet!

ignored?
I didn’t say anything about that…

someone stated that Clancy ignored the D most of the game only talking to the DB's
the DB’s ignored Clancy themselves.

KP had some nice posts discussing the switch in the off season. Here is one of them.

Thanks JComp11.
Kray, I’ll be doing a revised version of that post at the end of the year. I did a mid-season one as well.
Although I originally thought that this FanShot was sarcasm. I too wonder who that guy constantly getting bowled over is. =)

Yup.
Edwards is “the guy”. Dorsey and TJack are our DE’s.
Not to go too far into it, but we’re hurting badly there. Gotta have a major upgrade at NT to figure out if our DE’s can really hang.
