Chiefs' Dorsey Joins An All-Decade Team
Just this morning I was saying that you're likely to see a couple of former Chiefs on these all-decade lists that are popping up as we near 2010. Usually those names are Tony Gonzalez, Will Shields or Willie Roaf.
Today that name is Glenn Dorsey.
No, no not for his work with the Chiefs obviously. It's for his time at LSU and the reputation he gained as one of the top defensive linemen in recent memory.
Dr. Saturday of Yahoo! Sports (formerly SMQ at SBNation), handed out some hardware for college football's all-decade team.
LSU finished third nationally in total defense all three years Dorsey anchored the middle of the line, helping him earn the reputation as the nation's most unblockable force and run the gamut of national honors as a senior, when he helped lead the Tigers to the '07 BCS championship.
The only other defensive lineman on there? Ndamukong Suh.

Can someone explain to me why there are so many "Decade" teams and players
when the decade doesn’t end until next year?
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
Hey
Has anyone ever thought about what happened if we drafted Suh? Maybe I should make a fanpost…
Welcome to Chiefs REBUILD - Version 2.0 /The Clark Hunt Edition
Chiefs will be lucky to go 4-12 in 2010

as long as it includes something about going back to the 4-3
that’d be fantastic.
or maybe “bench Cassel” or “fire Haley” or “Croyle has a good arm”
:)
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
a fanpost about drafting Suh? and a mock draft???
damn … why didn’t I think of that!!! (slapping forehead)
I must need more Kool Aid!
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
How exactly would that look?
You should also throw up a Mock draft

Be prepared for those against drafting Suh.
Mostly because of the same position, etc.
But here is one big difference between the two. It’s a lot easier to look like an all decade player on a National Championship team than it is to be a Heisman candidate on a 9 and 3 team.

and it's a lot easier to transition from College to Pro if you go to a team like Indy or NE or another perennial top-notch team ...
… one that already has plenty of talent to surround you with …
… as opposed to going to … oh, the Lions or Raiders or (dare we say) Chiefs

"the unblockable force"
I hope he can eventually be called that in the NFL!!!

I really do have to wonder though
How good Dorsey could be if he were allowed to remain a DT in a 4-3 alignment. I remember an interview with Warren Sapp talking about Dorsey in the offseason (Sapp made the switch to the 3-4 in Oakland appearantly). He basically said that playing the position isn’t a problem, it just doesn’t really allow him to utilize his skills.
Predictions:
Kansas City will not win more than four games in 2009
Kansas City will have a new OC and DC in 2010
Kansas City will win at least seven games in 2010
I wouldn’t be completely against us drafting suh if a few things happen first 1 we are open to atleast using a 4-3 as well as the 3-4 curious if anyone knows a break down of packages we have used? But having having tyson, dorsey, suh, alex all on a line at the same time in some packages then have a very good rotating dline wouldn’t be a bad thing… But I would like us to give strong consideration at berry (pending he enters) and is available and a okung. Then also attempt to trade down as I think we still have to many holes.

Alex McGee? what, all of a sudden he's a game changer??? last time I looked he was 3rd rounder ...
… and we’ve whiffed on higher picks than that … Pioli has traded and/or Haley has benched higher picks than that … all of a sudden you’re saying he’s THAT GOOD? wow …
no, we do NOT need to “waste” our pick on Suh

Trade Dorsey to the Falcons and pick up Williams or Cody NT's in the draft

Regardless of wether we want it or not
I have a sneaky suspicion that Suh just won’t be there. Cleveland really needs Suh to anchor that D-Line and I believe he could be utilized in multiple ways. It would also be the safest pick in the draft which would look good for new Prez Holmgren. Hell, the Bucs might even grab him if Cleveland passes him up. I’m pretty sure we won’t draft him. We’ll take Mays or Berry. We NEED that Saftey that can make things happen.
