Larry Johnson Gets His Christmas Gift
"I'd be lying if I said I ain't looking at that game as a game I definitely want to play in. You take one game at a time, one situation at a time. I'm just trying to get on the field as of right now. If that happens, that'd be the best Christmas gift I could get." -Larry Johnson, November 17th, on facing the Chiefs
Well, it looks like he's going to get his chance. Barring injury (or, let's face it, another off-the-field incident), Larry Johnson will line up in stripes and face the Kansas City Chiefs for the first time in his career.
LJ is trying to give off the impression that this isn't a big game for him and he's a team player now but Jamaal Charles told Cincinnati area reporters today that this is more of a revenge game for LJ.
"Right now, what's going on with this team is bigger than me versus the Kansas City Chiefs," LJ said. "It's basically us trying to put ourselves in a great position to get to the playoffs and hopefully get to the Super Bowl."
Yep, that's the good LJ. Remember him?
Here's a two month old LJ quote to jog your memory: "Gonna gallop all over the Chiefs. Cleat prints on the chests. Mud in the face masks."
That was just taken out of context, right?
Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer was asked if there have been any signs of the old LJ rearing his head.
"Not one single sign. He’s been on time to everything, ready to roll, prepared. He’s done everything you could ask him to do."
Charles doesn't have to say much more because he knows he's gotten all the revenge he needs. Charles doubled LJ's numbers once he got in there and finally gave the Chiefs a legitimate running threat.

How sweet it would be
to have Larry standing on the sidelines not doing a thing as Charles runs up and down the field, having the best game of his career.

I keep hearing this
“I don’t care the outcome of the game, I just want LJ to play like shit”
Really?
I’ll give you two options:
1) Chiefs win, LJ has 129 yards and 3 TD’s
2) Chiefs lose, LJ runs 10 times for 27 yards.
You’d rather have option #2?
I sure as hell would rather see a Chiefs win

Ideally we can have both
and yes, if we can only have one I want the Chiefs to win. I’d still love to see the D shut Larry down every time he gets in the game though.

I hope that the Chiefs kick Cincy's ass...
and Larry Johnson gets his legs taken away from him. Leaving him with 15 carries for minus 25 yards.
Then I would have something to talk about instead of saying to Bengals fans… yup we suck.

ha ha
wouldnt that mean that 1 of our LBs would have to be in position to make a play, doesnt sound like something our LBs. I agree I would love to see nothing more then Charles run for over 200 yards while 2.7 is standing on the sideline.
I think our players should put little 2.7 decals on their helmets for this game.

LMAO
Charles doesn’t have to say much more because he knows he’s gotten all the revenge he needs.
Except when he claims he is the only guy on the team making plays and throws the rest of his teammates under the bus after fumbling the ball.
Predictions for 2009:
The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ
Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.
The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays
Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for
Chiefs 3-13

Why would Charles need "revenge" against LJ anyways?
It was Todd Haley that didn’t give him enough carries.
It was Todd Haley that made him a healthy scratch.
It was Todd Haley that left #25 on the bench until someone else decided for him that he would no longer have his starting RB.
Why would Haley do this?
He said it all in the preseason….
You better take care of my football, or you cannot play

uh bones
He IS the only guy making big plays on a consistant basis, not to mention, take your fumble stat and choke on it….
Ive NEVER SEEN a CHIEF FAN that wants our new young star to fail….hes 22 years old, did you see when tiki barber improved fumble issues? did you see that charles is taken off of units then put back on, which tends to lead to his fumbles
but hey, lets bag on a guy for a comment he made that was totally taken out of context….
gosh that jamaal is SUCH a problem
cant wait till your people see 2.7 and jamaal dropping 5.4….DOUBLE his carry avg.

Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.

If we win
I think Haley should toss 2.7 a golf ball.

He could toss a golf ball at one of our WR's
but they would just drop it
