Well I wanna vent...eh Vikings will win probably.
…but we are gonna need some Kool-Aid from our good friend Porkchop.
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
RIP Chris Henry #15 (Bengals)
RIP Derrick Thomas #58 (Chiefs)
There it is

I still don't get why we didn't keep him
elite players deserve elite player contracts. Makes sense to me.
I think it had to do with paranoia stemming from the DUI...

I think we should have kept him...
But Im not sure Jared would have signed… His hatred for Carl was pretty well known

Carl had himself stretched thin about the time Allen started to emerge.
I think Carl squeezed Allen for at least a year, and tried to make as sharp a deal as possible when he did renegotiate.
Prediction for '09: Chiefs are looking like a .500 team, especially considering Denver's inattention to D-Line, Chokeland's disarray, and a San Diego team that looks like it's on the decline. With a weak schedule, Chiefs steal a few and win between 7 and 9 games, and if .500 or better, will contend for supremacy in a weak division.
All he had to do was franchise the guy and pay him

I don't remember the details.
I just seem to remember there was a window, when Allen was starting to show something, and Carl could’ve made him a GOOD deal, but he was slow. Seems like he could’ve made a pretty good deal with Allen about midway through the season, but he didn’t, and Allen felt like he got punked.
Basically, KC wasn’t the best organization to play for, and the best players were going to squeeze right back for every nickel, or simply leave. A lot of that seemed to be personal dislike for Carl.

JA was an RFA
His tender was for 2 1st. Nobody wanted to give up 2 1sts for him. JA would have had to accept the tender but we would only have had him for 1 more year. At which point we either lose him with no compensation ot franchise him for a year at the big price tag. If Carl wanted to keep him, all he had to do was offer him going rate. Instead he tried to get a cheap year…pissed JA off…then decided to trade him when he realized JA would never sign long term after being treated that way.

Yep.
He was a top 5 or 6 pass rusher in the league already. CP should have paid him well and we could have watched him become a superstar on OUR team instead of watching him destroy QBs.

He was the best actually
He had just lead the league in sacks the year before we traded him.

How many yards would Adrian Peterson run for against the Chiefs?
100 yards?
150 yards?
300 yards?
900 yards?

If I was an O-coordinator
I would never throw against the Chiefs. Why?
You could beat the Chiefs without completing a forward pass

All the receivers are getting a chance to prove they can catch the ball...
So far no one is proving they can

How the hell do you give up a TD
in the 2 minute drill without the otehr team even having to throw a pass.

Thanks for putting it that way lol...
It was a disappointing performance…Even without the D stinking so bad, we still could have won….with even minimal ST effort…

the difference in money shelled out to 1 and 5
is in the 10’s of millions. I would never want the number 1 overall pick.

ya because we are so tight on cap space as it is
we’re pnly talking bout moving up to probably #3 from the #4 spot we are in now anyways…the top 2 spots are pretty much a lock
I will never
root against the Chiefs. Im just saying right now what good does 2 more wins do for us this season whereas if we get a higher draft pick then we can select the players that we want and dont have to worry about if they are gunna be taken by someone else
It has been a boring game
I figured it would be great but no real fireworks.
