Around SBN: The End Of Sabanball: Details, Barbarians, And Precision

The Pounceys turning pro removes a lot of stability from the offensive line.
Maurkice Pouncey is the best center in the SEC and his brother will follow him to the NFL.
Mike will likely get drafted later, and I don't think we'll see him in the top two rounds,
but his brother will be going late in the first, so they'll both come out.
For all of the flak the Gators' offensive line took this season, the Pouncey twins were solid.
They anchored the offensive line and frequently graded out as "champions" during game analysis.
They will be hard to replace.

IMO they won't have to work on communication :)

We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09. Almost there :)
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Skins & Raiders! Pittsburgh Sweet!

it'd be awesome to draft both!

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers

HELL YEAH

That could make our O-line infinately better. We really need a damn center though, We could definately make them work!

SO new they haven't been graded into the draft sites yet.

O’Dowd is showing up in the 1st and Wisnewski either. Center might be a great late 2nd pick. I like the tandem at Center and RG though.

what site are you looking at?

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2010_C
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2011_C

Sportsline breaks them down by Senior year… so they predict
Pouncey, O’Dowd, Wisniewski as 2011 prospects, mostly 2nd round picks
IF they all come out in 2010, they’d probably leapfrog Tennant and Walton who are predicted to be there in round 3, and Eric Olsen, John Estes who could be there when the Chiefs pick 3 times in round 5

good sites

they probably leave them out because they are underclassmen, who hadn’t declared yet

I would honestly be surprised

if any of the Center prospects are drafted in round one…

IF so, there would probably only be one…

meaning, KC should have the choice to draft a VERY solid Center in the 2nd round (2nd pick, IMO) or 3rd round… hell, even the 4th!

It could be that KC is looking for something a little different out of a Center than some other teams… maybe a smaller, smarter player? My point is that the #1 center on Pioli’s board may not be the #1 center on someone elses, therefore Pioli could wait to grab one…?

based on my post above, from sportsline

Pouncey is predicted to be a 1st or 2nd round pick in 2011, O’Dowd a 2nd round pick in 2011, and Tennant a 2nd round pick in 2010…

One could interpret this to mean that on or two of those guys might be in round one… but more likely, there will be a TOP Center prospect there in the 2nd or 3rd

I agree

Center Pouncey would be available in the upper 2nd.
His brother is undetermined but would hold more value for the team that has his brother.
We need a Center and a RG would be a perfect fit to be played out in training camp :)

that would be sweet...

grab one Pouncey in the 2nd, the other in the 3rd or 4th :)

Question

Russ Grimm, would he continue a Zone Block scheme or is he a Run-block guy.
Somewhere Haley or Pioli decided to run a Zone-block yet I don’t see where in an earnhardt-perkins scheme?

no idea

but, I am guessing they would stick with Zone blocking, given the pain they’ve gone through this year to learn it!

Maybe an answer

Bellicheck has a Guru.
Pioli knows that.
Haley is up and coming, Dad could be the Guru.
I will have sweet dreams with Berry and that thought :)
