There's quite a few connections this week to the Ohio area. You'd think they're known for producing football players or something....
I love that we have another small Kansas community college in the mix plus a KC-area high school.
- Chiefs GM Scott Pioli served as a scouting assistant ('92) and a pro personnel assistant ('93-95) with Cleveland.
- Chiefs asst. head coach Maurice Carthon (2005-06), defensive coordinator. Clancy Pendergast (2003), area scout Jay Muraco ('92-95), Mgr. of Football Operations Chris Caminiti (2007-08) and Equipment Mgr. Mike Davidson ('84-88) all worked for the Browns. Davidson is a native of Cleveland.
- Chiefs CB Travis Daniels played for Cleveland (2008).
- Other Chiefs players with Ohio ties include: LB Mike Vrabel (Akron/Ohio State), C/G Andy Alleman (Greentown/Akron), WR Chris Chambers (Bedford), DT Ron Edwards (Columbus), LB David Herron (Warren), G/T Ikechuku Ndukwe (Dublin) and CB Donald Washington (Ohio State).
- KC asst. coach Nick Sirianni played and coached at Mount Union (2000-05).
- Browns def. coord. Rob Ryan coached at Hutchinson (KS) CC ('96), LBs coach Matt Eberflus coached at Missouri (2001-08).
- TEs coach Steve Hagen ('85-86) and OL coach George Warhop ('84-86) both coached at Kansas.
- Browns asst. strength and cond. coach Rick Lyle prepped at Hickman Hills (MO) HS and played at Missouri ('90-93).
- Cleveland video director Chad Bogard interned with Kansas City ('96-97).
- Browns OL Red Hadnot is the cousin of former Chiefs RB James Hadnot ('80-83).
- Cleveland LB Kamerion Wimbley is a native of Wichita, KS.
- Pro Football Hall of Fame QB and Chiefs Radio Network analyst Len Dawson is
a native of Alliance, OH, and played for Cleveland ('60-61).
