Drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 3rd round (73rd overall) in 2008.
In 2008 which was his rookie year he started 2 games but played 16. In those games his stats were 67 rushing attempts for 357 yards which was good for a 5.3 yards per carry average. He had no rushing touchdowns and his longest rush was 30 yards. He caught 27 passes out of the backfield for 272 yards and 1 touchdown. He only had 2 fumbles. He also returned kick-offs/punts 15 times for 321 yards. His longest return was for 40 yards.
This year thus far he took over after we got rid of cancer (LJ). He has become what we expected and more. He never gives up and plays his heart out every game. He has started 7 games but has been in all 12 this year. He has rushed the ball 116 times for 605 yards which is 5.2 yards per carry. He has 4 rushing touchdowns and his longest rush was 76 yards. He has caught 34 passes out of the backfield thus far for 256 yards and 1 touchdown. He has 3 fumbles thus far. He also has returned kick-offs/punts for us. He has returned the ball 35 times for 901 yards and 1 touchdown against the Steelers. That was his longest return for 97 yards.
Jamaal is our best offensive player and you can argue that if you want to but we all know the facts. He is lightning fast and knows how to fight for the extra yards. He isn't afraid to take the hits and that is rare for a back his size. He can catch the ball well for a running back and blocks decently. A lot of people say he has a fumble problem but 5 fumbles in 2 years really isn't that bad. For example: Emmitt Smith had 15 fumbles his first 2 years. Barry Sanders had 14 fumbles his first 2 years. Clinton Portis had 8 fumbles and LaDainian Tomlinson had 11 fumbles their first 2 years. We were just so used to Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes which were both very good at holding onto the ball. They had a combined 3 fumbles in their first 2 years. So there is a little information on his little "fumble problem".
Now here are some pictures of Jamaal...
