RB Jamaal Charles' 76-yard TD Run Brings the Chiefs Within Three

And Jamaal Charles has brought the Chiefs back into this game with a big TD run near the end of the third quarter. That's five consecutive games with a touchdown for Charles. It's also the longest run in exactly ten years and one day. WR Derrick Alexander had an 82-yard run against Pittsburgh back on 12/12/1999,

It's 13 to 10 in favor of the Bills.

The Chiefs are still going to need some help to win this game. Will Charles break another big play to put KC ahead? We better hope so.

Here are some notes on the third quarter:

Positives

  • Jamaal. Charles. 76-yard TD run.
  • Brandon Flowers, this team's weekly play maker, picked off a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass in the end zone.
  • The Chiefs stopped the Bills short of a touchdown near the goal line twice.

Negatives

  • Matt Cassel threw a pick on the first drive of the second half.
  • The Chiefs have three turnovers and zero points to show for it.
  • Buffalo has over 160 yards rushing against the Chiefs.

Let's go CHIEFS!

Still waiting

Predictions for 2009:

The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

Chiefs 3-13

Just saying when you’re playing against such a weak run defense its a mistake to keep putting it in the qbs hands.

Its the same reason why we keep praying for the Bills not to run it and put it in Fitzpatrick’s hands. You don’t think the bills fans are praying Cassel throws it for three downs coming up???

Haley

Has to go. Kick the field goal from th one instead of a f-ing bootleg and we tie the game instead of throwing a pick to end the game.

Hindsight...

But I do agree…

Or just have a better play there (early) and win…

Cassel equals fail

Predictions for 2009:

The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

Chiefs 3-13

Cassel's stats

When everyone bitches about Cassel’s numbers, remember that if Chambers catches that ball, Cassel gets a completion and yardage gained and no INT on the next play. Instead, he’ll be charged with 0 completions on 2 attempts with an INT.

All because the receiver dropped a huge pass that was on the money. Is Cassel supposed to catch it for him too?

So, who wants to guess what Witlock will write about this week?

1) Haley can’t call plays

2) The combination of Wade, Bradely, and Chambers=worst receiver core in the NFL

3) JC can’t win it all

4) Pioli has an ego
