Chiefs, Bills Game Will Be Televised

Great news coming out of One Arrowhead Drive this afternoon.  The Kansas City Chiefs have announced that the club has sold enough to tickets to avoid a blackout thus putting the game against the Buffalo Bills on KCTV-5.

Here is the Chiefs press release:

The Kansas City Chiefs game with the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium will be televised locally this Sunday beginning at 12:00 Noon. The Chiefs asked for and received a 24-hour extension from the NFL yesterday, until 12:05 PM today, to sell the remaining tickets to lift the blackout. The usual deadline is 72 hours before kickoff. The game will be broadcast locally on KCTV5.

Good news.

Now about next week against the Browns....

If we go...

the whole season without a single blackout in this economy, with this team, in this market, says a lot about Chiefs fans.

As much at KCTV helped out I think the fans really stepped up on this one.

The Browns game might be a different story, we’ll see.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

Former 98.9 FM DJ Paul Marshall

Was urging a boycott. Of course, he’s also an Oakland fan…

The Kansas City Star on Wednesday implied that a blackout next week is almost certain. Good thing I have my tickets for Cleveland.

When's the last boycott that has ever worked?

I love this “boycott this, boycott that” but a) people usually don’t do it and b) the party being boycotted could care less. I’d say that the situation would lead to both of those options.

Our defense gave up 87 points in two weeks and the only thing people want to talk about is Matt Cassel. Classic.

boycott 98.9!

If they don’t want our Chiefs, I don’t want them!

Gosh I hope people go next week

Its a chance to see a win, maybe a nice big win at that.

We need to stick behind these guys, they will be better next season…I know that stinks to wait for a mediocre 7-9 season but…lets see what happens, lot of draft picks…hali maybe gets a new contract…few guys worth trading for…we shall see.

Well well well

I am glad that we get to watch the game, win or lose, however, I think that the KC Chiefs ar in desperate need of a win, or else the last home game of the season will not make the cut I am afraid. So GO CHIEFS!!! Go 2-0 to end the home season….

It occurred to me today

that this whole business about a potential blackout is kinda weird. When a blackout looms, the team announces that they’re X tickets short of a sellout – as if this will somehow motivate people to run out and buy tickets… so that other people can watch the game for free!
