Adalius Thomas discusses being sent home - Motivation
"Motivation is for Kindergarteners. I'm not a Kindergartner," Thomas said. "Sending somebody home, that's like 'He's expelled, come back and make good grades.' Get that [expletive] out of here. That's ridiculous. Motivation?"
I love this attitude. Players should already be motivated already for themselves. No need for a coach to make them motivated. I wish all players sounded more fired up like this for the Chiefs...

I don't know,
he sounds like it pissed him off that he had to go home. That means he won’t want to go home again, so he probably won’t be late again. Which would mean the “motivation” worked.
Feeling "The Love" and "Drinking the Kool AId"
Thats an interesting take
I think it sounds much more like he resents being treated like a kid than a professional athlete and it will likely color his attitude from here on out.
I believe Thomas didn't feel like he did wrong at all.
Theres no way to fix a problem in a person when that person doesn’t believe there is one to fix in the first place. But then again, you’re right where he might be more motivated not to miss the next meeting in similar fashion.
Overall, I am focused when they asked about motivation and not about who’s wrong or right haha. Just found it interesting to see self-motivation rather than hearing about a player being coddled by the coach to reach potential.
