The Arrow Points to Kansas City - Stadium Journey Development Blog
Good stuff here. A site that does stadium reviews. Arrowhead's review was done at last week's Broncos game and it's actually pretty positive. Worth a look.

I'm hoping upcoming trips to Qualcomm and the Rose Bowl (both of which I hear are dumps)
will give me better perspective on what great stadiums we have here in KC (even if I can’t stand the ribbon boards).
Why are you going to the Rose Bowl?
I hadn’t heard that it was a dump, but I can’t say that I’ve heard it’s great either.
My most recent stadium experiences have been Darrell K Royal at the University of Texas and M&T Bank Stadium for the Baltimore Ravens. M&T was pretty decent, fairly modern, but was filled with Baltimorons with the class to tell me and the wife to go kill ourselves (we were wearing Vince Young jerseys). To be honest, the stadium is nicer overall than Arrowhead was last time I caught a Chiefs game (I think 2005), but the actual game experience was better at Arrowhead. The biggest part where Arrowhead suffers is the fact that it’s such a pain in the arse to attend a game there, compared to Baltimore, where the stadium is right in the middle of the city. Sports bars all around, train and light rail access all over the place, lots of fun things to do before and after the game in the surrounding neighborhoods, etc. If Arrowhead had that, it’d be almost perfect.
DKR was enormous (over 101K in attendance that night), and even when UT was up five touchdowns, all the fans were still on their feet, screaming and yelling when the Horns were on defense, and the place still had at least 70K in the stadium until over an hour after the game actually ended.

Because they play a rather relevant bowl game there on Jan 1.
Brother went to Oregon hence the Rose Bowl.
I went to Arizona hence the Holiday Bowl.
I’ve heard from two folks that the Rose Bowl (stadium not game) is a huge disapointment. This season I also checked out the Oakland Colusium (dump) and Lincoln Financial in Philly (great but fans are all Jersey trash).
Ah
Well, I wasn’t trying to question your judgment in choosing to go there; I was really just interested to know what event you were going to watch. Have fun…it’s kinda nice that you get to catch both bowls so close to each other in time and place. I kind of hate most of the South, but it’d be nice to actually have more than just the effing Eaglebank Bowl (Army or CUSA vs. ACC #8, although this year it’s Temple vs. at-large) at that abortion known as RFK stadium here in DC.

I haven't made it out yet this year since the renovations were done,
but from what I read it sounds pretty spot on. The only real thing missing is the sold out crowd going crazy all game long and that will come when we start winning again.
Feeling "The Love" and "Drinking the Kool AId"
Good, fair review
I totally agree that the atmosphere has lost some luster. The fans are fewer and less patient, but with good reason.
And, HIV, I’m with you on the ribbon board. That added nothing positive to my experience. Save it for hockey rinks. I was looking at the jumbotrons the whole time anyway, which are top-of-the-line.
I had a very bizarre experience during the Denver game. A lady a row in front of me got into it with a guy two rows in front of her because he wouldn’t sit down. This is in the lower bowl, mind you: a place where you would NEVER sit down through the entire game during the Marty and Vermeil eras. It was a sad commentary on how far the team has fallen. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone.
I had this same problem at the SD game last year
I am lucky enough to go to maybe one game every other year and I expect to stand and cheer the whole game. If I can’t speak and still have a ringing in my ears the morning after, than it was a good game.

I'm torn on the standing/sitting issue
On one hand, I’m partially disabled, as my army days resulted in a back problem that makes it hard for me to stand for a long time. I can still do it, but it gets very noticeable after an hour, and it’s pretty painful after three. There are many who have it far worse, and many of us (including me) don’t have access to the handicap seating. What are people like us supposed to do?
I guess I’d be in favor of designated sitting sections, maybe just a few, so those who don’t want to or are unable to stand the whole game could still see.

I made my first and only pilgrimage to Arrowhead in 2006
Its like the equivalent of the Muslim Hajj for a Chiefs fan. All fans, no matter where on planet Earth they reside, must make this trip at least once in their lives. I’ve since been to a few other stadiums including Qualcomm (dump) and the Linc (pretty nice stadium). But nothing will ever compare to Arrowhead, and that was pre-renovations. I’ll be doing my stadium tour to Seattle next year and I’m looking forward to that since its a newer stadium and has a reputation for being loud, but I am also hoping to revisit Arrowhead next year too so I can see all the improvements and experience. I just wish they had an Arthur Bryant’s instead of a Gates.
For justice we must go to Don Pioli
