Pretty Much
And Kennison was right that there was only one guy in KC who wanted him…Peterson.
He could have had a safety likely bound for the Hall of Fame. Instead he got a guy at the most replaceable position in football who had two great years punctuated by embarassment after embarassment off the field for a team that never went anywhere.
It was a stupid draft choice. And no, I’m not saying that 2.7 was a bust…I’m saying that he was a stupid draft choice for this team.

Again about Polamolu
Flashback…..
Coming in to the draft, Carl Peterson had his eyes set on LJ and Dick Vermeil had his eyes set on TYLER BRAYTON – DE – COLORADO…not Troy Polamalu. At the time we had Jerome Woods and Greg Wesley at safety. I know it is fun to play the “what if” game, but Polamolu had no chance of becoming a Chief. Even if we didn’t go with LJ we still wouldn’t have drafted Troy Polamalu.
Probably Not
But a man can dream.
And I wanted Polamalu and didn’t want Johnson. Actually that’s mostly because I think it’s a waste to draft RBs in the first round.

thanks for the realism, Nick!
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
will he go into chiefs Hall of Fame? Becuase of his rushing yards?
Hate Larry Johnson.
Good question
If statistics were the only criterion I would say yes, but since I don’t think they are then probably not.
The only "Hall of Fame" he's going into...
…is the one he builds for himself in his living room, cause to 2.7 it’s only about himself

"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.
