momentum
Can the Chiefs fouth quarter momentum against Jaxonville mean coming out of the gate strong when they travel to Oakland to take on the Raiders?...
The Chiefs 2009 points:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th total
AT BAL 0 7 7 10 24
VS OAK 3 0 0 7 10
AT PHI 0 7 0 7 14
VS NYG 3 0 0 13 16
VS DAL 0 10 3 7 20
AT WAS 0 3 3 8 14
VS SD 0 0 7 0 7
AT JAX 3 3 0 15 21
TOTAL 9 30 20 67 126
...probably not.
The Chiefs have not scored double digit points in the first half of any game this season except against the Cowboys. And they scored 10, the lowest possible two digit score they could have had.
The Chiefs have not scored a single touchdown in the first quarter all season. They have had at least 7 points in the fourth quarter of each game except against San Diego.
Hopefully our first half woes, and our woes in general might change with this guy running the rock...
As long as our OC will actually hand him the ball more than 6 times.

I'm still hopefull they are "figuring things out"
I think that the offense works better when they open it up and throw the ball a little more, as long as there’s a healthy mix of runs from Charles and Smith…
I think the protection is still an issue, but it will gradually get better… maybe they will see film from this game and find that Alleman was better than Goff… and make it a permanent change?
Gradually, this offense HAS to establish an identity.
I think Haley THOUGHT it’d be a power running team w/LJ… but he’s starting to figure out that this is more of a finesse offense, with improved WR and quicker RB who can catch.
Hopefully, they can build on what they’ve seen and finish the year somewhat strong, with a couple more wins… then hit the ground running in 2010

we have the offensive talent
Our skill positions are pretty well set. Qb set, rb by committee set, wr definately set….we need to draft a starting center and starting rg. Maybe a fa olinemen…
I think we could have an explosive offense.
Our defense needs eric berry and atleast one pass rusher and a bull nose tackle….then I could see vast improvements….
We are just maybe 3 guys on offense and 3 guys on defense away from the playoffs….
As long as todd haley can step his playcalling up and we hire a better dc….we can do it!

Pass defense stinks
I’ve liked how we are playing the run, but my God, how come every opposing QB looks like a surefire HOF’er?

Of lack of good dc….lack of safety talent…lb’s not very good in coverage….lots of things need fixing….I say start by canning pendergast

well said, wrecked matty
I agree that they are probably 2-3 players away on each side of the ball.

thanks
I think it depends on the draft on how quick we get there…
Like I have said before, we cannot afford any draft bust….no magee’s no lawrence’s no javarris’….we have to hit on every pick….not that they are particularly bust, but they are not contributing.
Eric Berry should be Pioli’s number one target and he should be prepared to trade up to get him if need be. Berry and a strong starting center would be sweet.
We also should have some money to spend. I think Pioli proves his worth this offseason.
I just hope we can build off of something this year. Cassel needs confidence that he can lead us to victory. Haley needs to adjust big time.
Its easy to be negative about everything happening…..but we are not terrible…we just can’t seem to get over the hump to win games. We scored 15pts in one quarter…so it can be done.

Again, we're in agreement, Mr Grbac
Berry and a starting Center would be an amazing start
I still have hope for Williams, Lawrence and Brown…
but, I agree, they should be looking for Day ONE contributors next year
