Wonder how educated a guess it is
If he’s not guessing, its not like the majority of people aren’t saying that already.

Yeah
I think it’s definitely a possibility, especially with that story from PFT that says he won’t fight it.

you wont see me complaining.
I know its been said a thousand times before, but the only thing he can do better than the other guys is be a goal line back for us
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?

The term de-activated made me think of Larry as a robot
and that made me laugh. I must be tired

Hmmmmm
I dont think it will be a negative thing if he is…
I don’t know who Bob Glauber is or why I should believe him.

tell LJ that he only has 10 carries to try to get the rushing record...
then see if his YPC goes up

If They Deactivate Him For The Rest Of The Year
It’ll be the first smart decision Pioli and Haley have made during the regular season.
Seriously…it’ll be the first. Aside from the Matt Cassel trade a teenager who watches football casually could have made better decisions than those two since they’ve been hired.

I bet...
that teenager woulda picked Curry and traded up for Alex Mack. Cause, therz something I just like about that kid.
p.s. I signed the LJ petition
p.s.s. ……your welcome. Haha

I Would Have Been Okay With Curry And Mack
Although I think Tyson Jackson’s okay…he just needs a real d-line coach.
It’s everyone between Jackson and Succop that I have a problem with.

To be fair,
only 9 out of 10 GM’s would have known that:
Alex Magee
Donald Washington
Colin Brown
Quinten Lawrence
Javarris Williams
and Jake O’Connell
would amount to nothing…ever.
That’s still 1 out of 10 GM’s who agreed with those picks. Funny how 1 out of 10 GM’s are fired each year. :)

I still hate this year's draft as much as I did when it happened.
Just baffling.

Pretty Much
I’m not in favor of firing Pioli at this point. I think he’s getting a rude awakening to the NFL right now and maybe he can be salvaged as a GM when he realizes that buddy hires and arrogance don’t win you a lot of games unless you combine them with smart personnel decisions.
But his head coach needs to go…Todd Haley is so far in over his head that we would have been better off going the college route for our HC.

I am giving Pioli the benefit of the doubt regarding this draft.
He had to rely on Herm’s scouts and not his own.
The 2010 draft is when I will reach hypercritical mass.

What I will not forgive
is the cutting of Bernard Pollard.
They could have taken the same approach with BP as they have with DJ. Bench him and make him play Special Teams (where he was always fantastic).
Yes, he had faults in coverage, but he unquestionably had talent and that requires coaching. Cutting in him preseason either reveals a lack of player personnel assessment or a stubborn need to force their will.
He had a lower salary than DJ, was infinitely more valuable on ST than DJ, was worth more in terms of depth at position then DJ, and he actually showed passion about playing.
Why was he not subject to the same benching/shame treatment as DJ?

Because he plays just as well as a fat old Mike Brown?
Averaging 6 tackles a game?
Bernard Pollard insta-HoF?
by butchcassidy on Nov 7, 2009 10:36 PM CST up reply actions 1 recs
Well he does probably hit harder...
maybe thats a plus 1.
If you hit harder you’re a better safety

Didn't people say Herm was a decent DB coach/evaluator if anything?
why after 4 years does Pollard still have the same problems?

You obviously didn't read anything I wrote
Bernard Pollard insta-HoF?
I never intimated anything close to that. Way to overreact.

Umm..that would be a sarcasm FAIL
When your point is what you claim as sarcasm…that is not sarcasm.

Insinuating that BP for HoF was my only point is failed recgonition of sarcasm.
My only point in that initial post was that he played just as well as a fat Mike Brown…
The HoF comment was a tacked on sub thought of sarcastic cynicism
by butchcassidy on Nov 7, 2009 10:45 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
When did I say he played as well as Mike Brown..since that is your "point?"
Never.
You made 3 comments referencing the same theme and tenor, and now you claim sarcasm?
And now you are justifying it by trying to present that I compared him to Mike Brown when I never did.
Bravo…I think…or maybe that is the new sarcasm.

It was me misreading the voice of your comments
I honestly admit I was braced for the BP haters. That totally skewed my interpretation.
When you protested and claimed sarcasm repeatedly I reread them and changed voice as I was reading them, and I saw what you were saying.
It was my fault, man. Sorry. That was my mistake.

I have to go with a strategy even vermeil went with
it doesnt matter how old or talented, if the guy is a bad seed, you get rid of him, evidently they felt he didnt go 100 percent all the time, in practice, they felt he wasnt in 100 percent with their program…should they have recieved a pick? sure…but maybe they tried and got no offer…he was available for at least a week beyond when his contract was no longer guarenteed and btw, it was a small contract regardless…
I have to go with the coaching staff, they wanted him gone…this wasnt haley saying I dont like the guy, this was the DB coach, Pendergast, a few others, Pioli, a lot in the front office, the scouts….so much goes into that…
I even had a pollard jersey in the closet…but sometimes people are wrong, pollard may have been a hit, but they felt he was a negative pull in the locker room, I expect when LJ is deactivated hes asked to stay away…they get rid of those that dont fit….The Waters situation would be the one that went differently but I still believe whitlock blew that out of proportion and that waters is more of a guy that will just show up to work and not cause problems. Pollard is pretty outspoken.
