Sh%! Or Get Off The Pot

 textclr3

My grandfather was a cranky old man, at least when I knew him.  You may or may not remember a previous post where I told you that he used to tell me I didn't know sh!# from shinola...most of the time he was right.  He had a funny way of being right.  He always had a one liner or saying that would cut through the crap to make his point and would stop me in my tracks to wonder what the hell he was talking about.  He used to tell me, among other things, that I need to sh%! or get off the pot.

The other day I was wondering what my grandfather would tell the Chiefs.  You know...I think he would say something like, "the Chiefs need to sh%! or get off the pot."

When I was a kid I remember thinking there is some truth in that statement.  Either that or I just like using the word sh%! at the age of nine.  Anyway, if you're going to take the time to show up, have your pants down, with your a$$ exposed...then you better sh%! or get off the pot.

The Chiefs have been sitting at the pot for seven games now.  They have shown up and had their pants down with their backside exposed to all.  We are around the midway point in the season and it is about time the Kansas City Chiefs Sh%! or get off the pot, put up or shut up...fish or cut bait...put their money where their mouth is or whatever saying you want to attribute to your grandfather.

By the midway point in the year the Chiefs should be doing their business by:

  1. Protecting Cassel better...I want to see better protection.
  2. Cassel needs to be standing in the pocket without happy feet.  I know it is hard to do with the protection he has received thus far...but just get it done.
  3. The running backs need to be finding where the hole is and not running where it should have been.  Let's be versatile.
  4. The receivers need to catch the ball every time it touches their hands.  Ok...more realistic...no more than one drop total for the game.  Their is no reason the Chiefs should have 3 players who are at the top in the league in dropped balls.

Chiefs...you need to SH%! OR GET OFF THE POT.

Poll
Which area do you demand the Chiefs definitely sh%! or get off the pot?
Protect Cassel better. I want to see better line play. There is no reason we should not at least be getting a little better.

Cassel needs to calm down. You're going to get hit. Stand in there and deliver the ball...no happy feet.

The running backs need to sh%! or get off the pot. Stop saying the hole is not where it's supposed to be and find where the hole ended up being.

The receivers need to stop dropping balls. Lets go, sh%! or get off the pot.

voted the 2nd option mainly because there's no way the O-Line can get better with the current personnel

and the constant shuffling (injuries notwithstanding)

the only reason for the "constant shuffling" lately

is due to injuries. so this constant shuffling complaint is pretty tired. if anything, more shuffling needs to happen starting with #79 being shuffled to the bench. i don’t care if they put out the gatorade cooler in his place, he needs to be taken out

Charles...

Is a definite upgrade within the new zone-blocking scheme we’re attempting to implement. Hopefully there has been a lot of attention to those fundamentals during the bye week as well.

I’d also like to see our QB and WRs work from the same page. They both need to be able to recognize the blitz, run their checks, and be on the same page with the hot-routes.

Well...

Considering in this analogy the Chiefs are just at the stage where they are unbuttoning their pants in the rebuilding process Id say we have a while to work up the thunder from down under…

The better team for this analogy...

Is someone like San Diego who actually has a shot at success but cant execute.

After the sh%!

or get off the pot statement, I’d leave the toilet office & my grandfather would always ask if I’d finished my paperwork? He claimed that was the most important part of the adventure!
I’ll be glad when the Chiefs start finishing the paperwork as well!
