Ha
Let niswanger go-o dowd is better than niswanger
keep DJ
Taylor mays is not half the player he was last year, guys a combine freak but that dosent always translate. I think having 3 first round linebackers also helped him alot last year. He plays like a BABY this year, and if you watch him he is always in the other players face talking shit even if he isnt in on the play or the opponet just ran for 20 yds, dosent seem like a pioli guy
I would love to have banks but he will be gone no later than the 5th
by cassel4prez on Nov 5, 2009 3:23 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Niswanger is solid depth
Why the hell would DJ sign back with us when we don’t play him.
You can disagree with me about Taylor Mays that’s fine, but I remember Brandon Merriweather used to talk shit at the U.
Your pobably right about Banks that was just kind of wishful thinking.
by JrGrayson on Nov 5, 2009 3:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
...
Rudy would be fine for depth, like Wade Smith…
I would keep Vrabel for one more year, helping ease the transition for Norwood.
I also think DJ will work his way back into the starting lineup and sign a new deal… but, then again, he could be traded just as easily as anyone.
Remember, KC doesn’t have a 7th round pick (Jake O’Connell trade) but they do have a 3rd 5th round pick…

that’s true about Smith, but I doubt keeping Rudy around would cost us very much.
I don’t think Vrabel will want to re-sign. From everything I’ve heard he doesn’t really want to be here and never has. Same goes for DJ, he’s a FA we can’t trade him now, and NFL GM’s and D-coordinators aren’t dumb they know DJ has talent and someone 4-3 team will pay him what he’s worth and try to get the most out of him. DJ is my favorite player on the Chiefs and will be starting somewhere next year, but it won’t be here.
Good look, go ahead and just take that 7th and spend the 5th on Banks

disagree about one thing...
I don’t think Vrabel will want to re-sign. From everything I’ve heard he doesn’t really want to be here and never has
Vrabel has been nothing but a leader on this team. I think he would be happy to come back.

Would make more sense for him to go FA and sign with somewhere/someone
HE wants to play for. Yet, Money talks.

again, I have seen nothing to indicate HE doesn't want to play in KC

Just that he had no Choice in the trade and IS a pro
Will play for whoever is the most favorable to him.
Not implying he doesn’t like KC

He will be a restricted FA

I don't follow statements like this
From everything I’ve heard he doesn’t really want to be here and never has.
Seriously, where do you “hear” things like this? You are in on the gossip inside the NFL? Just curious.

Your logic is confusing JrGayson
Re-Sign Jarrad Page, but Release Dj. Jarrad Page lost his job too. Dj is the best player on our Defense. this mock stinks too. No Way O dowd goes in the 3rd and Fox goes in the 2nd. Also, Mays is horrible, If we are drafting that High Dez, Okung, Bulaga, Williams and Berry would be better options. Here just to make it seven, Dunlap, Suh, Rolando McClain (Who I love more and more everytime I see him and at 7 you make that pick if these guys are gone.
OHANA!
by darwithabar on Nov 5, 2009 4:04 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If we don’t sign Page who’s going to play the other safety position? Dejuan Morgan…Mike Brown? It might just be what I want, but I think resigning Page is a necessity. Obviously i didn’t know that about DJ. If he’s not an UFA than i don’t think we should release him, but I doubt he still wants to be here. O’ Dowd is prolly gonna go late 2nd-early 3rd, and I don’t know where you think Fox is gonna go cuz everything i’ve seen has him going 2nd round…
Ok you don’t like Taylor Mays, but your not an NFL GM. I garuntee you Mays goes top 15. So you must be right and any team that has him top 20 on their big board must be idiots.
Predictions this early aren’t really about the players so much as the philosophy and how you would like to see the team do things. Don’t get hung up on Mays just because you think he sucks.
Just to comment on those other players Berry and Suh will be gone for sure, and Okung most likely will be too. I’d be fine with Dez, but not if we signed a WR in FA. The only other person I would consider at 7 if Berry, Suh, Okung and Mays are gone would be McClain.

Mays plays SS position
Brown and Morgan I thought were SS too.
Page is playing FS like what Berry plays.
IMO that safeties are not that interchangeble unlike CB’s
Maybe Page was hurt trying to do SS type run stuffing?

agreed, sorta
Mays is a SS… like Brown, Morgan, Pollard
Page is a FS… like Berry
typically, they aren’t super interchangable… you really need your FS to be able to cover a fast receiver and go after the ball for some INTs… your SS needs to be able to stuff the run and hit hard over the middle.

yeh
hows DJ supposed to get big money from anyone else, when he has nothing to show for it, you think we would have unloaded him for nothing before the trade dealine, than let him sit around for a year and get rid of him for nothing.
berry just seems like alot more of a complete safety than mays
by cassel4prez on Nov 5, 2009 4:18 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He has 4 years of solid production to show for it. Also I was under the assumption that DJ was a UFA this year.
I like Berry better than Mays too, but i doubt he makes it out the top 5.

just as long as we draft Berry. If he stays for his senior year im going to be so pissed.

No offense BUT
A draft stocked with USC folks doesn’t help us all that much. Stick with the Big 12 and SEC for the NFL talent. Oh and that kid from Illinois that plays WR – Benn.
If everyone worked as hard as me, I would be out of a job.

by Red Shadow on Nov 5, 2009 3:31 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
My mistake
Showing how much I know…I thought it said USC after Norwood. I would prefer this:
1. Eric Berry (please God make this happen – I will go to Church every Sunday for the rest of my life!)
2. Benn WR Illinois
3. Offensive Line (best available – if it is a center or guard I don’t care = BEST AVAILABLE. We need help all over it).
4. LB
After that we need more Oline and LB. I don’t want to touch the DL in the draft – we have done that too much. We should hit free agency to address the NT position.
If everyone worked as hard as me, I would be out of a job.
-Steve Nash
by Red Shadow on Nov 5, 2009 3:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
We should probably go best available line with the 1st 2nd rounder...IF we did get breaston
that would be fine for now….we would need somebody to help protect and the best available OL would help rather than having another WR that wouldnt make a difference if Cassel couldnt get the ball off.
by Wrestler189s on Nov 5, 2009 4:12 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You are correct - that is true
Switch the 2 second rounders and hope Benn falls to you. Some projections have him going in the top 10…we shall see. Illinois has done a great job for the Chiefs by not throwing the ball to him much this year…essentially dropping his numbers and value. I live in IL and get to watch the Big Ten games, and he is the real deal at WR. He could be a Hines Ward type with his punishing blocking, and also Benn returns kicks.
If everyone worked as hard as me, I would be out of a job.
-Steve Nash
by Red Shadow on Nov 5, 2009 4:16 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
If he makes it to the 2nd round (which he might)
then i think we have a chance with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round. The falcons are 4-3 if im correct…so they arent doing spectacular like alot thought they would….if they continue to shit bricks and hold the middle ground then we could snag him. I hope every sunday that ATL loses every game so we get a better pick :)
by Wrestler189s on Nov 5, 2009 4:22 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I totally forgot about that
The value of our second pick depends on ATL’s record! I will from now on be rooting for the destruction of ATL…sorry Tony G….Chiefs come first.

If we’re picking at 7 Berry’s not gonna be there. You want Benn in the 2nd even if we sign Breaston?
by JrGrayson on Nov 5, 2009 3:37 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
If we cannot trade down for Berry and end up having to go a different route...
I would probably just take the best OL available no matter what the position.
Especially if we get Breaston, I want that Benn kid from IL. Bowe, Benn, and Breaston…3 headed monster!
If everyone worked as hard as me, I would be out of a job.

Hypothetical question here?
What would Waters value be if he were to be traded? 4th or 5th round and use that to get a young center. Olsen or Estes would probably be there.
by Helmets on Nov 5, 2009 4:35 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I think that a team would give a 5th but nothing more
He is probably worth more to us than a low draft pick

chances we find a starting center
past the 3rd round is pretty slim
by cassel4prez on Nov 5, 2009 5:18 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
true....luckily we have an early third so we could get one of the top 2 or 3 centers in the draft.
Centers usually dont go in the top 50 or so if i remember my recent drafts correctly

3rd is prime C time...
servicable Centers are OFTEN found later in the draft… top 10 centers show up in the 7th and FA…
it’s about finding one that fits the team’s system… I think a 2nd, 3rd or 4th would be good for a C for KC
