SS Morgan Still Subbing For FS McGraw at Chiefs Practice
Once an area of strength, the Kansas City Chiefs secondary is now an area of concern.
Strong safety DaJuan Morgan continues to fill in for free safety Jon McGraw as the Chiefs continue their preparation for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With Page's injury, as you know, the Chiefs have one free safety on the roster and that's the injured McGraw.
Morgan has seen very little playing time in his brief NFL career. As Josh Looney points out, it's beginning to look more and more like Morgan will be your starting free safety on Sunday.
No updates on McGraw at this point but I can't say it bodes well for him when it's been nearly two weeks since he last practiced.
McGraw's injury is causing quite the domino effect in the secondary.
CB Maurice Leggett is now seeing time at free safety. It appears if McGraw can't go, Leggett will provide a depth role behind Morgan. Leggett has some experience as a free safety in college, but none in the NFL. He's been the nickelback this season.
New Chief Travis Daniels is filling in at cornerback while CB Mike Richardson continues to be out with an illness.

my opinion
is that this is the year to have injuries, we stink regardless and need to know what we have, from 1-53 on the roster..and id actually add the Practice squad to that…
Morgan MUST PLAY…at this point, we could have an all pro, or a bust, or a mediocre player, no one knows..and if we go into the offseason once again not knowing what we have…thats not going to help our team evaluation…Practice minutes? we have all seen how some can practice poorly and play well, or practice lights out and stink it up(turk)
Lets see what he’s got…the page injury stinks since this was a year to evaluate if hes worth extending…but if they are all restricted regardless, it wont really matter.

and what if leggett turns out to be a better safety, he has flashed talent...maybe hes out of position...
if hes not, then hes off the team this offseason…
I like it, competition, evaluation.

I'm happy to see Morgan get his shot
I think he has some real potential and this game time is valuable to his growth

They should make LJ play safety.
I’m just saying.
About the Chiefs: I'd rather be a realist than a pessimist

I thought these improved condidtioning programs
were supposed to prevent injuries….. hmmm…
Anyway, We needed to give morgan some burn at some time, might as well be now… gotta see what you have… Although I’m sure he’s gone at the end of the season anyway

It's all just a sign
that we should take Eric Berry in the draft.
No Taylor Mays.
Berry.
