Why?

I have completely lost all respect for the media. They report about this "petition" as if it is real. If they spent 5 mins reading the names and comments instead of just looking to see how many names are counted, they would see this as complete and total bull spit. I am waiting for Whitlock to come out and denounce the petition for what it is. When/If he does that, he will be the only journalist at the Kansas City Star. It is bad enough that Babb inserted himself into the story of LJ. Babb isn't a journalist, he is a blogger at best.

Star-divide

I have a hard time believing that anyone is taking this "petition" seriously. Look at some of the names.... And I spent no time even thinking. And only 3 mins looking.. These were the obvious names in there. I also question how many of the name are really chief fans...Than the question of how many actually have ever spent a dime on the Chiefs....And then how many are season ticket holders...And how many season ticket holders will cancel their tickets solely on the basis of who the team's all time leading rusher is. If you ask me the team's play is more evident.
103. Larry Johnson I hate Kansas City! I wish i could get my f****t a** out of here!

72. Charles Norris Just cut him already
71. O.J. Simpson
66. Dick Vermeil LOL.
53. Todd Haley I gave you another chance and this is how you repay me you POS
36. Priest Holmes This is great! I've been counting the yards. No mas! Now I can eat nachos in peace.
35. Mike Scimeca
34. Carl Delano Peterson Of course he deserves it. I drafted him. Quite frankly, Larry Johnson never averaged 2.7 yards per carry when I was GM. Scott Pioli should fire himself.
23. Dick Inabox
22. Curious George
21. Ivana Tinkle
6. Ian Fleming Here's to the future!

Whenever you have an online form like this

you are going to have jack asses screwing around and adding fake names. The petition has gotten a lot of signatures and while I am sure a lot of them are fake names and BS as posted above, a lot of them, probably most of them, are genuine fans who see the petition as an opportunity to voice their displeasure with the idea of L.J. playing for the Chiefs.

Is the petition going to have an actual impact? Probably not. However, it is important for fans to voice their displeasure and I assure you, the brass are listening. That doesn’t mean they are just going to bend to the fans will but I am sure the petition has at least gotten Pioli’s attention.

A similar situation is happening in Cleveland where a couple of long time ticket holders are staging an "arrive late’ protest of the Browns at their next Monday night game. The owner of the Browns heard about this and is going to have a face to face meeting with the men staging the protest. They are preparing a presentation for the owner.

It is a shame that some immature people post vulgar, silly names in the petition but most of the names on the petition are real. It is great way for a group of people to make one loud statement.

As for Babb and his credibility as a journalist I would say he is at least on the level of Jason Whitlock, if not beyond him. I’m not a big fan of the media in general simply because it is a business that is saturated with sensationalistic headlines and fake news.

Out of all that you just said

I am shocked the most that the Browns play a effing MNF game. That’s BS!

I respect what the Browns fans are doing

At least there you have fans that have actually spent money on the product. Here could be anyone making up names. Hell there is software that can auto fill these petitions for you. I am just saying that the media shouldn’t be reporting this as legit.

Predictions for 2009:

LJ breaks Chiefs all time rushing record at home

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

Chiefs 6-10

Leave it to an LJ Homer...

To denounce the Petition. there are over 7000 signatures on there and you show like 14 names. Child Please. Leave LJ in the past bro. I know it is hard to except but its over for him.

OHANA!

Again

I only spent a couple of minutes on there looking. 14 names out of 100 are obviously phony how many are phony without being silly? How many spend money on the Chiefs? I saw several people claiming to be fans of other teams. Why should the Chiefs give 2 fucks what jet fans think? I would be surprised if more than 5% of that list is real season ticket holders. why? because season ticket holders don’t make a decision to fork over the money because Priest Holmes holds the single season rushing record. You fork over the money because of a variety of reasons, most of which have to do with watching the team play. I, unlike many shitbags have season tickets and can tell you from my prospective I am more concerned with the chiefs making the playoffs than any rushing rushing record.

We the Fans

We want a voice, we always have and always will. I’m not saying this will have any effect other than making the voice of the fan heard a bit louder than in just ranting to themselves of on a blog site. I love AP, however we don’t have all of the Chiefs fans but we are getting there. I have seen countless post and comments about how everyone feels and thinks about the team. But what kind of voice do we have with the Chiefs? is anyone listening to us, I’d like to hope so, but that’s just hope. Although I see both sides of this point I tend to lean toward the side that is getting heard, ranting in the dark only makes you look crazy.

The team will not take any action based on any petition, and I’m fine with that. The point is that now there is a voice that the team can’t just ignore because they have to answer questions about it. The fans are important to the Chiefs, we have heard it time and again, we do pay for Tickets, parking and all the merchandise we choose to afford. The petition is just one way of being heard, it’s not a boycott, or a walk out, but it let’s the team and Ownership know we are not happy with the situation as it is and we want something done about it. They may not listen to us at all which could blow up in their faces, because if there’s one thing I know it is not to ignore a Cheifs fan, we will be heard in one form or another.

I hope team management is not listening to whinny internet fans...

They have far more important things to do than listen to the poorly thought out, emotionally driven opinions. The only “voice” that needs to be listened to is the one that is dropping cash for tickets. Fans are buying tickets, games aren’t being blacked out, the real fans are behind what is going on.

AMEN

I think that this petition has forced the Chiefs hands. Even if they did not plan on playing LJ the rest of the season, they have to now or risk one of these crazy petitions coming out every week. I can see it now…

should cassel be benched?
Should DJ be starting?
Should we trade the human drop machine Bowe?

I understand how Larry feels, everyday it’s just one fool after another trying to take me down.

It’s not going to work and you are starting to make me mad.

Love.

maybe he’d run with some authority. Wouldn’t that be a nice blast from the past.

btw, props on the Jason Bourne reference. those are some sweet movies.

The difference being...

That Larry is taking himself down. You can’t not produce on the field and then start running your mouth about your coach and whatever else.

Its kind of like Roy Williams the Bust spouting off about how Romo doesn’t get him the ball where he can catch it. Show some fucking accountability for once.

by krayfish on Nov 5, 2009 11:53 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Okay let me try this again....but kinder and gentler...

to me personally, this post came off a bit whiny. That’s just my opinion. The first thing that comes to mind when I read this and other posts like it is quite simply “get over it”.

I mean that sincerely. LJ asked for this. No one is petitioning for Vrable to get banned. When your in the spotlight and your team and community and fans are counting on you, it’s time to man up and accept your role model status. Not use it to inflate your ego so big that you feel it is okay to pound on women and insult people who don’t live like you do.

So sorry if LJ is offended by it. He started it in the off season by telling us all how much he hated us here in KC and how bad he wanted out.

Perhaps if LJ would grow up and act like a man instead of a thug he wouldn’t get this kind of negative attention. There was no need to talk to the reporters like that. That’s their job and every other team puts up with it too.

by krayfish on Nov 5, 2009 11:15 AM CST reply actions   0 recs

I agree

LJ is now getting exactly what he has been asking for from the fans of KC. He wanted all the attention, well he’s got it. He wanted to be outspoken well he got that to. I guess no one told him that we would just keep taking it. He wanted the respect of KC, Well to get respect you have to show some, and all he has shown is a lack of respect for this team, it’s fans, and this city. He got what he wanted, now he can rot in it.

OMG...KC Fanatic..we can't start agreeing with one another...

Let’s just stop this right now and go back to the way things were…umm hold on let me try first…..“Oh KC Fan..that’s ridiculous…you never think before you post, what r u talking about anyway?? Don’t you have something else to do besides annoy me”??

How was that?? Ok I feel better…I just needed to know I still had it in me…tks man. I hate to admit it but your right..he gets what he deserves…for God Sakes…I might even end up rec’ing that one for you…

I agree

The petition is whiny. As are the fools that would rather lose every game this season than have LJ break the record…
