At this point even the British are second guessing Coach Haley.

Whats in store for us when the NFL's cheekiest head coach has a bye week to burn and is snookered by a sod tailback who clearly hates fancy boys? A new offense?

More after the break.

Star-divide

This line from Kent Babbs fine article is worth repeating " So the Chiefs made more changes, all in an effort to further shepherd in something that looks like the offense Haley ran in Arizona — but with extra emphasis on protecting Cassel and trying to jump-start a unit that has been anything but intimidating. "

Coach Haley spent this weekend tweaking the offense again, for the third time this season. Obviously we can't get into the specifics of exactly WHAT Coach changed, but we can say he changed the Approach? It seems to me Coach is second guessing himself, but thats just me.

Moving on: Who here wasn't pumped up by the Monday night game? I hope i'm not the only guy that likes what coach Chucky adds to the booth. But i'll use some of his game commentary to highlight what the Chiefs should be doing now. Drew Brees hit Coleston on a post rout, Bang, 25 yards fiiiirst down .Chucky pointed out how Brees looked the safety off just long enough to squeeze the pass on the sideline in front of him. Micheal Turner took a sweep and stuttered just one step, standing up the defensive end long enough for Tony Gonzalez to lock up with him. Fine Tuned techniques that separate first downs and interceptions, 2nd and short and 3rd and long.

So when I read that coach Haley was installing yet another approach in this off week - I was disapointed. He has Jamall Charles starting for the first time this year - scratching around with a bunch of new plays in his head. He is actually the best blocker we have at tailback, did Haley just jack that up by giving him new protections? We'll find out, I suppose.

Here's what we do from here on out. Coach Haley, find the Dahli Lhama and find yourself and stick with a plan. New schemes and approaches only stir up more mental errors on the field. I have faith that this offense can take a plan and run with it, but mental errors, blown asignments, misteps because everyone isn't on the same page - they have a way off adding up and games go by too fast to burn posessions.

Take this time to find your players that can get past this survival mode where they just want to be in the right spot and block the right guy. Find the players that can play beyond that and execute at the higher level your looking for.

Rick

I didn't take it that he was putting in another new offense

just that he was building on what they already know. Think of the version he installed after Chan was fired as the “watered down” version and now he is trying to add more into it.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

I didn't think that either,

but after the way they have played I just hope they can stay on the field long enough to work in the new wrinkles.

yah either way..it's still a new scheme again...

He’s not sure what the hell to do right now and I don’t blame him. He’s also at the mercy of Pioli to get him those quality players he needs. Make no mistake, Haley is a first year rookie coach. He is a pure coach. Not a GM assistant coach like so many others are now a days. He takes what Pioli gives him to work with and that’s that.

I'm just hoping we have a new approach this week.....

Especially in the first quarter. He’s not sure what to do, and that’s understandable. But I would like to see him get aggressive early on with the passing game. Running game should definitely be screens and sweeps with Charles. Anything to mix it up and get the defense on their heels early I’m all for. If we lose that way, at least we switched it up a little.
