This was really messing with me, because I can remember this game, but if it was 27 years ago I would have been 1.

I was sitting at about the 35 yd line and the injury if I remember happened around the opposite 30 yard line… I couldn’t see the hit but when you saw Byrd down laying motionless and the fact you can hear a pin drop at the stadium, you knew something wasn’t right. Never forget that day.

Yeah

I was definitely a little younger but I barely remember watching the game with my family and not understanding the full scope of what happened until years later.

I remember Deberg sliding up in the pocket. Those guys were going to sandwich him. Byrd came out with a book after his recovery. It was one of the first sports bios i ever read.
