No Experts Pick the Chiefs to Beat the Chargers

Last time the Kansas City Chiefs played the San Diego Chargers, Chris Mortensen was the only ESPN expert to pick the Chiefs.  This time, he joined his fellow analysts and picked the Chargers.

Espnpicks_medium

Your experts are: Eric Allen, Mike Golic, Merrill Hoge, Ron Jaworski, Mortensen, Adam Schefter, Mark Schlereth and Seth Wickhersham.  AccuScore also picked the Chargers to win.

This is no surprise.  The line on the game is nearing two touchdowns and the Chargers are on a five game roll.  Plus, it's being played at the armpit.

NFL Network also unanimously picked the Chiefs to lose.  Brian Baldinger, Sterling Sharpe and Joe Theismann picked the Chargers.

Once again, everyone's picking against the Chiefs.

The only thing Mike Golic is an expert at

is being an annoying fatass

Bob Golic was robbed of an Emmy for his work on Saved by the Bell: The College Years.

So was Screech.

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

Yes

Yes I agree with this.

Oh, and Bob Golic is not a real person. His name is Mike Rogers.

I'll take an unblocked Corey Mays up the middle on the first play of the game.

If that doesn’t happen Tyson Jackson needs to end up with his first sack of the season(knocking Rivers out).

by ravenhawk on Nov 27, 2009 5:45 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Why not both?

If Hardwick doesn’t play, it’s going to be a short day for Mr. Rivers.

by Pilcrow on Nov 27, 2009 6:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

now thats a funny...

you chose 2 chiefs that will probably never even sniff rivers butt smell except at then end of the game when congratulations are being exchanged… the chiefs are STILL inept at sacking the QB this year… mays is an average MLB that nearly never gets to rush… jackson is a body who is continually washed out of plays by whoever he lines up against… hali and johnson are your playmakers… make no mistake about it… and johnson plays 30% of the time… but even then we still have 14 sacks total… 30th in the NFL… by comparison the vikings have 36 sacks… sacks are still coming few and far in between… luckily they are coming at a faster clip than last year…

Well if we can hug up to Rivers for 3 Quarters

We will put him in the sack repeatedly in the 4th

We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09. Almost there :)
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Skins & Raiders! Pittsburgh Sweet!

Brandyn Dombrowski is starting… never heard of him… runyan is backing him up… look for hali to be lined up there all day… course he will have hester and gates chipping him all day… hope he can get his…

I'm reasonably confident that Brandon Manumaleuna will help block at the second level.

Brandyn Dombrowski was a stud in college, and he looked okay as a spot player, but this is his first career start and he will be tested.

Runyan is still learning the playbook, but he might come in on goal-line situations or as an eligible reciever.

Ali Villanueva (OT/WR, Army) has 460 yards and 5 TDs in only 7 games with a mediocre quarterback. Just sayin'...

Unlike other KC coordinators,

Pendergast has the balls to dial up the blitz, at risk of being burned. The current D has a better chance of catching Rivers wrong-footed than the D he faced last time. Rivers will pick apart anything vanilla, unless it’s set up by a blitzing mindset.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

So what about Gilberry

What D are we playing that has Gilberry stripping out interior O-lineman?

That 4-3 under or Gilberry is the Nickel NT?

i'll be the negative nancy

I agree with the experts. The Chargers just simply outmatch us.. I bet we lose again but this time not such a wide margin

Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.

I agree, this one could be ugly.

It’s not unheard of for a young time to follow up a great performance with a bad one. These are growing pains. And I think the Chiefs are outmatched (for now). If they fight as hard as last week I will be pleased as punch.

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

It'll be close.

We’re a second half team now. So for San Diego to beat us on Sunday, they’ll have to take two things into the locker room:

1. A lead of more than 10 points
2. A healthy Rivers

In other words, I like Kansas City’s odds. Two touchdown spread? Give me a break!

by Pilcrow on Nov 27, 2009 6:36 PM CST reply actions   1 recs

Hey I picked the Chiefs to win!:)

Two things I wanna see, Rivers getting flattened, when LT tries to sneak out of the backfield for a screen pass, one of our backers to crush his a$$! We will win.

Good move by the Chiefs org, glad to see LJ gone.

Rain

we got rain coming tonight and saturday i love that the game is blacked out as of right now here in san diego, the “Q” is such a bad field when it is wet.
i expect chambers to catch & run all over their db’s

Rain in San Diego?

Put up obviousmans statement in our locker room

“Just because you guys beat the Steelers does not erase the fact that we beat you by 30 points last time” yeah our defense would be pissed off! Put it up Haley, put it up!

Good move by the Chiefs org, glad to see LJ gone.

Just put Chambers on the Offense/Defense/Special Teams

We will have our only perfect game of the season.

Now if you excuse me, I need to make sure Chambers is still avaliable on of my fantasy leagues. If so, 100 points, here I come. :D

by ChiefsFan90s on Nov 27, 2009 7:57 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

oh man, id love to see it but,,,,

Chambers having a 200 yard game? I’d cream my pants. There’s no way we’re gonna win by 17. If we win, expect a late game-winning drive from everybody’s favorite quarterback, Matt Cassel.

different game but...

I remember gates being open all day. Just like steelers wrs were last week. We needed JCharles to run back first play. So, I predict if we fall behind early that we could have troubles. Sd wrs/te too big/tall. BUT, their streak has to come to an end soon, the weather may be lousy, and they may play down to their competition. Here’s hoping for the best! Interesting in seeing what Haley does with Chambers, decoy?

We are pretty used to that anyway aren't we?

DE – Luis Castillo – Questionable – Ankle. Rookie Vaughn Martin will start instead.
LB – Shawn Merriman – Questionable – Foot. Larry English will start instead.
C – Nick Hardwick – Questionable – Ankle.

Wide receiver Vincent Jackson (ribs), punter Mike Scifres (groin), outside linebacker Shaun Phillips (ankle) and Johnson (groin) are all probable to play against the Chiefs.

I’m hoping that this past week has been a total distraction to the dolts, they had a lot of things going on not related to football and they aren’t really that worried about the Chiefs. I also hope that the Chiefs are the ones that put their winning streak to an end.

In the Occult world of game calling we should win this because this is the 100th time in the 50th year that the two teams have played.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

iam still on my Kool-Aid High from last week....

And i hope the players tasted the blood in the water. Rivers is natural winner, and until the gun goes…dont count them out. We got young guys which = alot of upside. It would be great if they carry the momentum and play tough this week.

by Sea of RED on Nov 27, 2009 11:55 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

I have to be with NaNzy on this one...

Guys, we are a young, inexperienced team…We have to realize our performances will be highly inconsistent. I think we COULD win if we play our best but I don’t know if we should expect to go on some kind of a streak here…

KC has won the last two games. That IS a streak. It’s a WINNING streak.

Well, we certainly have a shot.

I wouldn’t hold my breath, but I’ve seen the chiefs kick ass in Qualcomm before, and here’s hoping we do it again.

Be prepared for another beat down

Rivers goes off on you today.
