Around SBN: Randy Moss A Raven?

There’s enough invested in quarterback Matt Cassel to make his status as the unquestioned starter reasonably safe heading into 2010, but virtually everyone else’s job could be in jeopardy if his performance falters down the stretch. The Chiefs, to me, seem like the kind of team that could parlay some strong late-season performances into a fast start the following year, which is another reason Haley will push them as hard as he can between now and January.

i have to say this season has really been good i know we are losing but at the same

time we are seeing some guys shine jc . studie. even dorsey who has been pretty impressive as of late. Im really hoping we make a push to get a monster defender inside on the line that jackson and dorsey can flurish around . but cassel i think still needs to be protected a good oline protects the entire team it protects the defense and it protects our franchise qb . so that in my opinion is still the biggest need on this team.

agreed

Cassel is fine, build that line, get a few weapons, get a nose tackle inside, a LB…a nickel back and some safety help, and we can seriously compete next season…

I expect a STRONG push this final 6 games…especially starting wth a win over SD hurting their season!

Right on

I’m not gonna make this one. I was at the game in Arrowhead in Oct against the Chargers. Man I hope we pull this one out. I hate charger fans. Almost as much as Raider fans…

It's worth reading (or at least scanning) the article to the end

to read the “Lyric-Altered Song Of The Week,” entitled Wake Me When December Comes.

Now if Todd, and the Chiefs finish strong

will he get his attaboys, or will it be , they finished strong due to a soft second half schedule?

Good move by the Chiefs org, glad to see LJ gone.

By the end of the season, I don't think our schedule in the first half of the season will be seen as all that impressive

The Cowboys are 8-3, but the Eagles are only 6-4, Giants are 6-5, Redskins are 3-7. Ravens are 5-5 and Steelers are 6-4.

Yes most of those teams were very good LAST YEAR, but they have had plenty of problems and to this point anyway, have been pretty average.

So the question is, at the end of the season will we look at the first half schedule and say its damning that we didn’t compete in those games?

Could go either way, we were installing a new offense,

and a new defensive scheme that everyone was adjusting to. I think we are turning the corner now, last week should be a confidence booster.

Good move by the Chiefs org, glad to see LJ gone.

I hope you're right

Beating the Steelers could really give these guys a boost, and that goes for players AND coaches.

We have seen some signs of life the last couple weeks. Can we see that continue this week? I don’t even necessarily care about them getting a win. I want to see them able to sustain drives like they did in the 4th quarter and NOT have the 46 total yds they had the entire 1st half.

Its about continued progress. Getting better every week more than actual win loss record.

Agreed, with the exception of Philly, and the first SD game, I think we have seen gradual

progress. I would honestly not be shocked if we ended up 8-8, but I do not have my hopes up. I am also anxious for the matchup with the Bengals, I wanna see how our defense responds to the gonna gallop all over the Chiefs, cleat prints on chests, mud in facemasks bit. You know there has to be some anamosity towards the 2.7.

Good move by the Chiefs org, glad to see LJ gone.
