Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles Wins AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
Well deserved, in my opinion.
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles was awarded AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Charles was the Chiefs kick returner in last weekend's victory when he returned the opening kickoff 97 yards to house to set the tone.
This is the first time a Chiefs player has been awarded this honor since S Maurice Leggett returned the Raiders Raider-esque fake field goal fumble back for a touchdown.
This also comes on the heels of the news that Charles is a finalist for Sprint Can't Miss Play of the Week. VOTE for that here.
Chiefs S Mike Brown received defensive player of the week against the Raiders two weeks ago so there's some good vibes coming from the NFL.

I've been trying to figure out who Jamaal Charles reminds me of regarding other RB's
and I thought of LT. He seems to have many of the same characteristics. What do others think?
Well, the obvious answer is Chris Johnson
But I do see some similarities with LT. I think they both have incredible balance and the ability to make quick cuts, although Charles doesn’t jump into his cuts
I'm thinking Chris Johnson
or Reggie Bush……..Jamaal isn’t quite the “bowling ball w’ spikes” that LT & MJD are. He’s smaller & has more home run speed
Just recognition and...
I think they donate money for charity in his name.
40 times at the combine
Bush—did not run it
LT—4.42
CJ—4.24
Charles—4.38
I’ll add in McFadden—4.33
some others:
Eddie Royal—4.39
Desean Jackson—4.35
Now, Charles has run a 10.18 100m clocked in the Tx Relays. He was on a 4×100 team where he ran it.
Fuzzy Math
When you run 100 yards/meters, the first 10 yards/meters where you’re still accelerating (and hence, going slower) has less of an impact on your overall time.
There is no way in hell that Charles could run the 40 in 4.07.

Still,
running the last 70 yards (or so) of that last 100 meters in around 5.8 seconds (4.38 in 1st 40) is pretty impressive & means that not many players in football can catch him once he gets in the open! Maybe a handful, if that.
Long time kool-aid drinker & too old to learn a new trick! No flip-flopping allowed!
Michael Bush did not run
Reggie Bush had a 4.33 and 4.38 in case there was confusion now that I’m looking up further in the posts
Thanks for the numbers Ren
I had no idea he was that fast….

Yeah np he's scary fast
oh by the way, that 10.18 time would have qualified him to run in the Olympic Trials in the 100m.
Priest did not have that kind of speed, did he? Priest reminded me more of Barry Sanders
but I don’t think anyone has ever had his cutting and jukking(sp.) abilities.
Faulk --4.28
trying to think of more speedsters over the last several years.
Here are a few more:
Adrian Peterson—4.37
Bo Jackson—4.2
My Fave: Christian Okoye—4.51 (at 255lbs)
Yea, Okoye had crazy speed
Especially since he was built like a DE!

Studebaker should get Defensive Player of the Week
I can’t imagine any other defensive guy had a bigger impact for his team than Andy “where’s the keys to my” Studebaker.
Please help send my girlfriend to Broadway! Visit http://magonbroadway.blogspot.com/
He also had two passes defended and five tackles
The guy is a beast
