Guess Where I Was This Weekend? Oh Yeah.

I was In the 26th row in the corner of the endzone in Arrowhead stadium.  My first chiefs game.  I was joined by my best friend (a Steelers fan) his wife, and my beautiful fiance'.  Did I mention that she is a Chiefs fan now?  I have had a rough go for a while now dealing with the ups and downs of life, not to mention that I found out that my grandfather passed about 5 min after I arrived in KC, but I had more fun than I have had in a really long time.  And the way my fiance tried to take an interest in something that I love made me love her more.  She doesn't really understand football (yet), but she was as excited as anyone when we did something good.  We are definitely closer now.

That game was a dream come true for me, and one heck of a game.  Definitely one of the best I have ever seen.

And what great fans.  The respect the Chiefs fans showed to a team we beat was great.  And the respect the Steeler fans showed to a team  who has only won three games was greatly appreciated.  What a weekend.

Hopefully we can string more wins like that together

and, yanno, actually fill Arrowhead? Looking how empty the stadium is every home game is pretty embarassing. But what to expect from perennial loser?

Go to Arrowhead once, and you're hooked for life!

There just isn’t any comparison to watching the Chiefs on the tube, to being there live, in person.

Glad your first experience was such a great game. The kind you’ll remember forever!
I’m in my 13th year as a season ticket holder, after going to a few games here and there the first two years I lived in the KS area. Used to drive 3.5 hrs to games, now 20 mins from the stadium. I feel blessed!

You are blessed!

I went to the Buffalo game last year for my first time at Arrowhead. It was a lousy game and left in the third. You are right though once you have been there all you want to do is go back. Every time I read on here about someone going to the game (or Joel in the box) I get extremely jealous. I live on the “wrong side” of Kansas so its a hell of a trip to K.C. I have been to old mile high and saw another lousy Chief game that was all special teams and a Chief loss. Basically Im saying that Arrowhead was awsome. I had an ear to ear smile as soon as I saw the stadium. I walked around and met fellow fan that were great people and evan played catch with some kids I didnt know. It felt like as long as you are wearing red your family. I got to take pictures with X-Factor guy and some cheerleaders… I smile just looking back on it. My ultimate goal is to move to the KC area and have season tickets. For right now though I will just chill at home and smoke a fatty, wishing that I could be there. Also, untill the Chiefs get it together I cant get myself to drive to KC, pay for a room, pay the parking lot fee, pay 5 bucks a beer, and watch the Chiefs lose. Especially a loss like I witnessed aginst Buffalo. So C’mon Chiefs a win some more so that Mr. Hunt can have some more of my “working man’s” money!

ABQ Chief!

How frickin’ awesome for your first game at Arrowhead. I will someday make it there as well. Very cool to hear that the fiance is a fan now. I have seen the Chiefs play twice in the last 5 years and both were in Denver. Donkeys won both games. Next year I will go up to Denver again and I believe we will win with a good start of a foundation this year. Can’t wait to get to Arrowhead, thanks for sharing your story.

I'm working on heading into KC for my first time next year...I can't wait.

Leave on a saturday morning, check into my hotel by mid afternoon saturday, hit up some KC BBQ joints, game on sunday, then head out either sunday night or monday morning. Lots of planning to do.

Thanks

Yeah. Its been rough, but the game was great. You know, we should all pick a game next season at arrowhead and go and meet up somewhere after the game. An AP game. I think that would be cool. Someone could make a post about it.

I would scrape some money together

Count me in

We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09. Almost there :)
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Skins & Raiders! Pittsburgh Sweet!

Also,

I really bought into what Haley is trying to do. If we learn to take advantage of our opportunities as a team, we could be pretty good. The one thing that I don’t like is all of the short passes. I believe we ad 1 pass attempt that was longer than 10 yards in the 1st half. We only started to open it up in the 2nd half. I really liked what I saw out of Dorsey, Hali, Flowers, Charles, and of all people….Belcher. He made some really nice plays.

by Enite on Nov 25, 2009 5:30 PM CST reply actions

I think Haley would love to throw deeper balls

Yet Cassel has to have time and the WR’s need to seperate enough for

CASSEL TO LET THE BALL LOOSE

Cassel has done well on not giving away the ball so far, Good training up in NE IMO
Now throwing a long ball on 3rd and forever is just as good as a positional punt to ME
Stats be damned.

My first game was like my life was changed lol...

But I haven’t been present at a win since…It makes a difference.
