No Changes to the Chiefs Depth Chart Against Chargers

Maybe he's happy with the way his team played, or maybe it's superstition but Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley didn't change anything on the team depth chart as the preparation for the San Diego Chargers begins.

The only changes came because of injury reasons.

Star-divide

The kick and punt returners remain the same.  Jamaal Charles, as he should be, is the No. 1 kick returner.  The defensive unit gave up over 500 yards but there were no shakeups.  The receivers will likely stay the same throughout Bowe's suspension.

The Chiefs are starting to get a core group of players playing on a consistent basis.  The coaching staff had previously shuffled things around quite a bit but as we get further into the season they seem to be figuring out who they want to keep around.

What a gameface

by Cassel in that pic

Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...

I'm happy that he is going with the same squad.

Kinda nice knowin the same group of guys you had on the field with you in the win against SD is there again. Maybe these guys can really get rollin now.

Bradley needs to step up his game. Everyone else has. If he does not, he may get left behind.

Remember though

this is a serious trap game for the Chargers and us. Chargers coming in on a dominant win for the division lead while we are coming in on our biggest game in years. I have a bad feeling that the bolts will be able to handle the pressure that comes with winning a little better than our squad, but maybe Cassel will prove me wrong again (I am completely ok with this).

Other than another runback by Jamaal "J**** C**** that kid is fast" Charles, I'd like to see us start with...

A big toss to Long or Chambers. I’d go with just Chambers, but I have a feeling they’ll be gunning for him, so we may have to work that into a gain, and then use him when they have to re-adjust.

Admittedly though, I just want to see positive at the beginning of the game, and don’t really care about the specifics of it.

The Chargers have one of the best secondaries in the league. They have given up the 5th least 20+ yard pass plays (23) and the 4th least 40+ yard pass plays (3).

Wade Smith?

Has anyone talked about him? I wonder if his play at RG was part of the improvement.

I'd forgotten about that.

I think you’re right. Don’t remember when it was but that would have put Ndukwe in I believe. Might have to go back and find out to see if him being out (or if he went back in) made a difference in the protection.

Front Five

Assuming no additional injuries during the practice week, who will be the front five against SD?
