Open Thread: Kansas City Chiefs v. Pittsburgh Steelers
When: Noon Central time
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Steelers on SBN: Behind the Steel Curtain
NFL TV Maps: Week 11
Complete coverage of this game on AP is here.
Make no bones about it - The Chiefs have a tough game ahead of them today against the Steelers.
Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith will get probably the biggest test of their young careers against the NFL's #1 ranked run defense. The Chiefs secondary has been torched quite a bit this season - Will it happen this week?
Alright, I'm ready for this game to start. Even though I could never in good conscience put money down on a prediction like this, I like the Chiefs to win in a close game - 20 to 17.
Get your predictions in before the game starts. Joel is back in the press box this week so make sure you tweet him any questions you may have at @ArrowheadPride.
GOOOOOOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!!

Chiefs best game of the year...
Cassell – 290 pass yrds, 2 TD
Charles – 110 rush yrds, 1TD
Chamber – 90 pass yrds, 1TD
Long – 70 pass yrds
Special Teams TD
DST – 3 sacs
This game will be the turning point that things are going in the right directions but they will still lose…It will be a moral victory.. :)

The trap is set...
and the Steelers escape it in the last seconds and win 28-23…..
…sound familiar…?

Betting on a hopeful...
24 – 23, Chiefs pull it out on a final minute drive…
Chambers is the hero of the day, catching a Cassel pass and running up the sidelines for a score in the last minute.
Hali harries Big Ben all day and walks away with 3 sacks. Studie throws in another one for good measure…

This is a game Haley will want to win bad(since he's a pittsburgh native)...
So I’m half expecting hyper aggressive playcalling. Its clearly a trap game for the Steelers as theyre still licking their wounds from last week and looking forward to a near must win next week.

Steelers defense has a 7:1 TD:INT ratio without Polamalu and 2:7 with him.
by Joel Thorman on Nov 22, 2009 11:35 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
This is something I loved about Vermeil offensively anyway.
Vermeil is probably the one of the best stat guys in the history of the game. And if there was a stat to know about the other team he knew it and he took advantage of it. I’m sure Haley knows the stats with Polamalu out so lets just hope the ball goes down field.

If that's what it takes, I don't think many of us care.
Somehow, I like the idea of Haley having the stones to try something like that. Can you imagine being Succop in that situation?
Of course, he’d likely tear his leg to pieces to kick it that long.

Funny
Eric Mangini talking on the NFL Today show…
When asked about the Cleveland fans asking for his head, he said I understand that this is painful and I understand why they’re upset, but (and I’m quoting here) “…this is a process…”
Do you think he’s taking notes from Todd? haha

Thats the second time Cassel has not hit Charles in stride on a short pass play like that
if you can’t hit them in stride on plays like that then the play will not be successful. blocking wasn’t great though either :/
