The next Jeremy Maclin

or the original Jeremy Maclin

We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Washington & Oakland!

He's 6'5"

He’s no Will Franklin, or Maclin for that matter

Predictions:

Kansas City will not win more than four games in 2009
Kansas City will have a new OC and DC in 2010
Kansas City will win at least seven games in 2010

Moves with more authority than Franklin.

Hard to call from WOW highlight reel. But, compared to, say, Taurus Johnson’s awesome highlight reel, the kid gets farther down the field quicker. Definitely a player to watch. Almost want to see if he can carry another 30+ pounds and retain some ball skills. On that frame of his… It’s just hard for me to tell at that age, and against DBs others have called into question, if he’s a slow 40 guy, with Jerry Rice-type on-the-field speed, or just a player who is peaking against weak competition.

Now that he’s healthy, he IS putting up some gaudy numbers in ’09.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Actually he has performed best when Gabbert (the MU QB) has been most mobile

Now what that means is subject to interpretation.
But Alexander has shown he can seperate and is stout enough to get the ball.

He got pretty deep pretty fast on a couple short drops by the QB.

Comment made in voiceover was about his “awareness,” which I really like. I think I know what you’re saying, though, and it seemed half or more of the highlight plays were off of QB scrambles.

As for route-running, it’s hard to tell from a highlight reel. Obviously he did some things right on the given plays. But I’m a poor judge of college talent, because I really have no idea what the level of competition is that I’m seeing. More than likely, he doesn’t look very dominant against NFL DBs.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

I thought we already had a big, strong WR

who runs the 40 in the high 4s and is undisciplined in his routes. Heh.

I’m open to the idea of more street ball in the QB-WR game. Let the players work certain things out for themselves, and if they’re good and understand what they’re doing, it’ll look a lot like something choreographed by the most balletic OC. Heh. That’s a weird enough sentence to keep, just on weirdness principle.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Thx for the quality post, Steve.

The more of these you share, the wider my limited view of young prospects.

I hope for his sake he doesn't fall that far

Man I would love to see him in red and gold. Huge, strong, fast, skilled. He can jump and snatch the ball away from defenders at the highest point, land, break the tackle, and run for the TD. On any given play it seems like he’s just doing whatever it takes to get every single inch that he can.

After the game today, Iowa State’s head coach called him a combination of Jim Brown and Usain Bolt. I don’t think anything more needs to be said.

That was Walter opinion

I don’t think he will fall that far either.
But where he falls is anyones opinion :)
